I don't think it helps take any students from A&M, but it definitely puts us in vision of some of those that might be considering A&M but not academically or financially able to get in. Plus I think our COE is pretty good, and getting a foothold out there can't hurt...

What is an education completion program? Never heard of such.

That's awesome. Just sent it to my Dad, he's been talking about wanting one.

If SFA has one of those on the business side, I'd strongly consider it.

They do have a fully online MBA.

That would be a cool profession. One of my sons worked for a certain covert Federal government agency in Northern VA (he was a financial analyst, not a James Bond type), and he had several close friends who were intelligence officers. Obviously, my son could never share much with me about what they (or he) did.

Lol I already paid too much for a master's. I gotta level up this time around.

I feel like I already am an intelligence officer, just without the commission. Basically just an intelligence.

As part of the northwest entrance/Turner remodel, all the trees have been leveled for the work. I know trees will grow again, but I feel like we still don't understand that more students have come for the tall trees than new buildings.

I'm not against the new work just wish they could be a little more understanding on how to incorporate the 70 footers that fill out North Street.

I don't like seeing trees go, but I doubt this is accurate. These facilities will attract far more students than trees will.

Granted I went to school before most of the more modern buildings were built, but my casual survey through the years - including several current students, the beauty of the campus (trees specifically) was usually mentioned as the reason for attending - not the facilities. Now, my relatively small sampling is not scientific, but my guess is that the forested side of campus makes a huge impression.

I was up in Nacogdoches a few weeks ago. Didn't see the trees come down. I am generally psychotic about trees being removed. I remember the backlash in 1981 when a couple (literally 2 or 3) old pines were cut down to make room for the liberal arts expansion.

This new fine arts building will make a positive impact in the near future. More students and I assume they will "landscape" the area impacted back to original beauty.

I'm in there if anyone wants to read about student perspectives about the training environment as it relates (or does it?) to race and gender Lol ahhh, my research days!

What a bummer. Proud for him tho. SFA has lost many a good one due to low salaries. Don't know if that played a part but it has with several Ive worked with in the past. I wish him the best!
