Of course the argument stands that we haven't played anyone save Rice. But, Washington State has played 14 top 100 games and lost 8 of them and has 30(!) unranked teams with better RPI's than them. Illinois has played 13 top 70 games and lost 11 of them. That's a lot of quality losses propping them up.

SFA 5 for 5 against top 100 teams.

UCLA wins two against Oregon (97 RPI) and Oregon State (138 RPI) and jumps from 27 to 23? Stupid.

This is worth a listen. Mick calmed me down by downplaying the value of the poll. He says the top three criteria for the committee are RPI, record, and health of the players. All of those indicate SFA is a two seed at a first round site. He thinks there may be four first/second round sites in Texas, adding Rice and A&M to Baylor and UT.

Oh well. Not going to be bitter about it despite that #23 and #24 ranked teams have as many wins as we do...at least if you combine their wins. They each have more than 10 losses than we do.

14 voting points from being ranked. 29 RPI in nation. What a great season so far Ladyjacks! Let's do a little more work.

A couple of games that could potentially help our overall bids: San Diego vs Loyola Marymount tonight and UCLA vs Arizona tomorrow. Neither would move us much, but it could essentially move our RPI up a slot or two.

I don't hold much hope of RPI 115 LMU giving San Diego much of a battle. San Diego is playing very good right now. But, that's why they play it.
UCLA at Arizona could be interesting.

New faces coming to losing teams.

McNeese went 11-17, 4-12 in the Southland, and Ashleigh Fitzgerald was let go after six seasons. She had an overall record of 80-109, 32-54 in the Southland.

Another SLC school, Lamar, has an opening because Michelle Kuester resigned after the Cardinals finished 9-17, 4-12. She served as interim head coach in 2017 and was head coach the past two seasons.

We went to the watch party at Bottlecap Alley. Really good crowd. In addition to most of the AD staff, Carthel and Keller were there. We are the visiting team against USC, meaning we are the three seed. Absurd, but really doesn't matter. USC has an RPI of 27 compared to our 29. We have been complaining that we aren't ranked. Time to prove we deserve to be. We play at 5:00 PM on Friday in Waco.

It was funny when Hawaii was announced as hosting the first round. All of the girls let out a quite audible groan. I suppose a trip to Hawaii is better than Waco.

I know it's not quite the same as a normal tourney with these moronic regional seedings, but as the "3rd seed" in Baylor's regional, the selection committee is basically saying we're the worst 3rd seed in the country. That is absolute BS.
