24-10 first set before a packed Shelton Gym. Outhit them .625 to -.036
Absolutely destroying them.
After two sets, Lamar still doesn't have enough points to win one.
Only outhit them .434 to .029 in the second set. 25-13

Axe 'Em Jacks - Class of 85'
25-17 in set three. Still dominant, but we were somewhat lackadaisical. Outhit them .424 to .094 for the match. Announced attendance of 623. There has been one small set of bleachers added to each end. I think that was done prior to the Sam match. Purple Haze filled the one on the west end. They were loud and plenty.
Humphreys did get a couple of girls that haven't played much into the match. Shelby Sheets has played quite a bit, but she wasn't in uniform or there as far as I could tell. The SLC tournament requires three matches in three days. With limited depth, our girls will be tested. We have the best chance we have ever had to get an at large bid to the NCAA, but I have no trust in the committee.
The SLC trophy was presented post match as shown above.

Coming to town for the BB doubleheader and hopefully will catch some of the volleyball. With all of the campus changes going on, where is the best place to park? I believe with the new STEM building they closed the street that went through there? Did I also hear they do not charge admission to their matches?
Raguet the street in question is still open though parking can be tight on game day. For the volleyball game, behind the library is good. No admission.

#8 Penn State dominated #25 Illinois 25-15, 25-22, 25-18. At Illinois. Illinois is now 12-12 on the season. 7-8 in Big Ten. They must drop out of the top 25.
#20 California got swept at home by #27 UCLA. Not good. UCLA plays at #4 Stanford on Sunday. Cardinal fan on Sunday.
#21 Rice finishes their regular season at UTEP today.

#23 Michigan plays at #5 Minnesota today. Golden Gopher fan today.
#24 San Diego had a nice win over #10 BYU 3-2.

Solid crowd. Purple Haze as usual. We are playing a sluggish first set.
25-17 first set. Aided by 5 service errors and six attack errors by McNeese.
25-14 second set. We played better. Still not as efficient as the match on Thursday.
Yikes. Ugly first half of the third. Let's finish the season off!

Getting all the feels watching the Senior Day video on the big board in WRJ. Special group this season.
Next up is #8 seed UNO at 11:00 AM on Friday in the first round of the SLC tournament in Conway, Arkansas. Ladyjacks beat them 3-0 in New Orleans during the season.
From what I recall it's been awhile since we hosted the SLC volleyball tournament. I assume that if we did host we would use WRJ for the venue. Is this correct?
