UIW at Sam FCS playoff game attendance - 6,722.

7,637 was the lowest attendance at the five SFA home games. Including those big games against Mississippi Valley State and Lincoln University (CA).

Texas Tech hires OC ZACH KITTLEY away from Western Kentucky.

Kittley was at Houston Baptist and he and Zappe went to Western Kentucky.

The air raid to return to Texas Tech.

Ya but Morris is good. His gameplanning was top notch.

Without the players it was likely a step back, but this could be a return to the continual 2 win seasons which is really gonna hurt the WAC too.

I don't think Morris wanted to rebuild and Wash St. is his stepping stone to the FBS head coaching ranks.

Yes UIW will be back in the cellar in 2022, the WAC just got weaker.

Probably. I'm pretty optimistic though. I think Dixie is on the right track. I expect Dixie to win 4-5 games next year, challenge in 2024. SUU will improve and Tarleton should be back. The weakest of the bunch imho is Lamar.

Probably for the best to be honest. The air raid is much easier to recruit for as it doesn't require your QB to be necessarily good at reading defenses, doesn't require your receivers to be a great route runners, and the line doesn't have to hold their blocks as long. It's usually pre determined reads and quick throws to easy routes.

That's why UIW had such success with it , why Sam had a lot of success with it, and why we consistently had the best offense in college football when we ran it.

The downside to it is your defense is on the field a lot because air raid drives never last long, and it's easy to shut down if a defense is good/fast enough.

So just pointing out, this was the best defense Sam played since they played us. Eric Schmid has been incredibly inconsistent this year, and this game was more proof of that. I don't think he would've made much of a difference at all against us if he started.
MSU's defense never lost momentum. Even when Sam got a huge touchdown on that screen pass, MSU never showed weakness. That looked like a championship defense. I hope our guys were watching, because that was one of the best defensive performances I've seen out of an FCS team that wasn't a shutout.

I get that they were up against the end of the semester but most of their students and alums live less than an hour away.
