To say we got a steal is an understatement. Going hard after him immediately after he de-committed from that small school was a genius move by Keller and his team.


Edit: Also want to mention that several of our Sawmillers here sent him some love on Twitter right after SFA offered him. I didn't see that from any other school. That had to influence his decision. Good job, guys!

Here's my take... There's no deadline per say, but signing day is TOMORROW and the coaching staff will have to decide whether to take a chance and wait for him to qualify (and maybe not qualify at all and go JUCO) or pull the offer from him and give it to someone else they want right now before that person is plucked off by another school, or hold it to offer to someone that comes along later. It's crunch time!

The trickier part here is that Pope has signed. I know the school has more wiggle room to release him, but he does have a signed LOI that was submitted back in November. Not sure if that matters or not though

He's also said he'll qualify. I'll consider that he's coming until it doesn't happen.

Are scholarships year by year and if so when do scholarships renew?

There are several possibilities here. Possibly Comeaux is not coming back. I think that Doctors did advise him not to play again before he made his comeback. Isn't his condition degenerative? Possibly Walker or Seraille has decided to go Juco. I would think that it is unlikely that Bain has decided to transfer. This is all just speculation on my part but I can't help but wonder. There could also be some unknowns that would lead Keller to over sign. Scholarships are renewed yearly.

He's #87 on JUCORecruiting.com's national Top 100 list. That makes three that we got out of the top 100 JUCO's in the country. The other JUCO's we landed are top-notch, too. Outstanding recruiting job by our coaching staff!
