We got to visit with Carthel some after the basketball game on Saturday. He has filled the last of the four assistant openings he had. That's the fewest he has had to fill. Because of that, he was able to get out recruiting last week rather than spending time hiring. To say he is excited about his new OC would be a serious understatement.

Great news. Any word on the schedule?

Fingers crossed that Ross and his reputation can help snag some high level recruits from the DFW area (and, obviously, that he can generate top offenses).

Not from Carthel, but six home games. Schedule will probably be coming out "soon." Unlike other sports, Ivey does the football schedule.

The big question is, can he carry his high school successes to college football? Is he Jeff Traylor or Todd Dodge for example.

Lots of potential with this guy. 5'10" and 242. Great size. Saw lots of action vs. top competition at Baylor. A 4-star out of HS. May I assume he'll be a senior?

I wonder what prompted this transfer. Seems like he was good with Baylor. Can't see him coming in and being the number 1 back right away. Probably will be the goal line/short yardage back though.

Unless Ross's offense will have RBs subbing in and out very often, which I could see.

Every time I see these awesome scenic shots of the stadium I think two things.

1. Despite everything, the Piney Woods as a backdrop is the absolute best thing about our stadium.

2. Many, many ideas to make the stadium a top tier FCS/FBS ready stadium that wouldn't break the bank.

Curious what size bank this is that your ideas won't break. Right now, our bank is like a small, rural credit union.

It will be interesting with all the new personal on and off the field, and how that all pans out, especially with a new OC.

NORTH AMERICAN
@NORTH TEXAS
@MONTANA STATE
NORTHERN COLORADO
EASTERN KENTUCKY
@ABILENE CHRISTIAN
@CENTRAL ARKANSAS
UTAH STATE
@WEST GEORGIA
@SOUTHERN UTAH
TARLETON STATE
NORTH ALABAMA

Hopefully the Jacks are still in the hunt for the UAC Championship and or the playoffs when those last two home games come rolling up.

For sure. I tend to look at the schedule in "chunks". If we can come out of the first 5 games 3-2 (wins over NA, UNC and EKU) we could be ok. Getting a win over EKU will be a challenge, but having them at home might give us a chance.
