The crazy thing is we only lost to Rutgers and by extension Bama because we were just off offensively. Defensively we played Rutgers a good game, just a rough game shooting.

Currently SFA is the worst rated 3 loss team by a wide margin. This has to do with our strength of schedule which is rated at the 9th easiest in the country while playing the third worst defenses in the nation. Ouch.

That still infuriates me. AMCC has not shot the ball anywhere close to that way against any of their other opponents this year.

I agree. It's sustaining the ranking that will be the hardest.
It's the losses. It's a mix between it's inevitable and they're unforgivable. We can't take SLC losses but we also can't expect to be undefeated. We are in the literal worst spot a mid major college basketball team could be in.

I would assume a win at prison tech would potentially break us through 100 on KenPom. It sucks that we went down on NET with a strong win over a top conference opponent.
Sam is the last remaining team in the top half of the nation that we play.
Interestingly, Jerry Palm on CBS Sports has the 12th seeded Lumberjacks taking on the Fifth seed Fighting Illini of Illinois in Spokane in the NCAA Tournament.

A top Southland opponent is still a pretty weak team. A double digit win is all that matters for a lot of rankings but if you analyze the performance in that game it should have never been close.

Sam is kenpom 158 . A win against them doesn't do much.. ranking wise. They would be at the bottom or close to the bottom of most top 15 conferences... ranking wise
For rankings and hypothetical purposes only, we are double digit favorites from here on out, except for our last two games according to Haslametrics. We are three-point favorites at ACU and nine-point favorites vs. Sam. Most games average in the 20-point range...
Not that it is super important, but we received 3 votes in the AP Poll this week
It is super important. Ahead of Michigan and Virginia.
It is important. The team sees it. The country sees it. Another plus for marketing the university and selling recruits on SFA.
I'm beyond excited that this team is still capable of receiving votes even after that embarrassing loss in conference earlier this season. Maybe the aftermath of the Duke game has really stuck around with us!
