Jacks played a fall ball game yesterday. If you don't follow on Twitter, you don't know it took place. The posted schedule and roster are still from last season.

There is still a lot of opportunity to improve promotion of our athletics. Simple stuff really.

I wonder if he would have said anything if it had been TCU?

What's general admission for baseball tickets? I probably can't make it to enough games to justify baseball season tickets.

Also, any indications on how good our baseball team will be this year? I know Cardenas has been recruiting like crazy, seeing indications the team is working hard at S&C, I'd really like to see them turn the corner.

I wish college basketball was as open to scheduling as college baseball is.

It was a down year for Arkansas State as they finished fourth in the West and then lost in the play-in round for the Sun Belt Tournament.
Returning Players
First baseman Kyle MacDonald will be back to lead the offense after hitting .346 last year with 50 runs scored, 12 doubles, 15 home runs, and 50 RBI. Justin Felix should be back behind the plate before missing last season with an injury. He made 54 starts in 2017 with a .257 average and 8 home runs. Third baseman Alex Howard will also be back after missing 2018 with an injury. He stared 53 games in 2017 and hit .277 with 17 stolen bases.
Nate Alberius should be back to lead the weekend rotation after posting a 4.43 ERA in 2018 over 81.1 innings pitched with 54 strikeouts.
Newcomers
Infielder Will Zimmerman and pitcher Chandler Coates are both newcomers that will look to make an immediate impact.
Outlook for 2019

The Red Wolves are coming off a 20-32; 11-19 season and a first round exit in the Sun Belt Conference. This season they return with a very young team with only 7 seniors.

Perfect weather for opening day. Good crowd.

Biggest issue Jacks had last season was pitchers not being able to throw strikes. Juco transfer in his first start loads the bases in the third with three HBP. Two runs score on a ground ball single. Pitch count is over 70 after three.

Such a downer. I don't think we will have a chance until we get an on-campus facility. A good one.

I agree, but I refuse to use that as an excuse for not being competitive. Then again, it is the first game of a long season.
