Tom Brown is a great coach, very impressive resume on the division II level.

Currently West Texas A&M is ranked #8 in the nation at 8-1(began the season #2), (just lost their first game of the season) began season with back to back wins over ranked teams.

Brown has only one losing season in his entire career since 1998 at Winona State, 634-197 in his overall career.

In one stretch at Winona State from 2005-2008 he went 105-6; 49-1 winning three regular season and tournament championships and three straight trips to the National Championship Game winning two of those.

While at West Texas A&M he has won 5 LSC Regular Season Championships, 6 LSC Tournament Championships, and 7 trips to the NCAA Tournament (1 National Championship Game, 2 Final Fours, 2 Elite Eights, and 2 Sweet Sixteens.

Exactly why I like him. Pretty much the Drake approach in hiring a new coach. Since they went out to get Ben McCollum who won most of those titles at NW Missouri State. I think he would translate well and get some of those D2 guys here. Plus the AD connection.

Do juco or D11 coaches that move up to D1 have to adjust to recruiting talent ?

I would assume so. But If I had to guess Tom Brown actually does a good job of recruiting D1 talent at the D2 level due to the success he has had there. Thats just a guess. But just looking at his roster its a bunch of fantastic shooters. But it seems like Drake been doing just fine with mostly D2 Talent in D1.

We can't shoot the ball in the basket and turnovers.

Well that will do it. Hopefully shots start falling. Thanks for response 890.

Nothing at the moment. I hope hes on the hot seat. But probably not until next year unless we buy out his contract. Which I think is easier now since one year left.

How does this affect Christmas, Southwick and Hayman?

Wow, maybe we can just let them play 15-20 year careers in college. They can get paid now, why ever have to get out in the real world like anyone else??
My interest in "college" sports dwindles daily.

Any and all career records in college athletics that get broken by a 5th+ year senior needs to have an asterisk next to it. Taking 5-6 years to break a record it only took some players 2 and sometimes 3 really good seasons to set just isn't as special.

Slightly misleading. The door is opening for this to become the new rule, but this ruling was in case of an individual player. This was an injunction filed for Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia. Pavia's time at JUCO will not count against his 4-year eligibility in the NCAA.

That said, the ball is rolling and I wouldn't be shocked to see this become the new rule in the very near future...

My observation is they do NOTHING great. And they do a lot of things poorly.

The ladies shoot the ball much better and accurately.
