SFA has won 3 games in 3 days before, but we have to finish very strong to make sure we have a shot at it.

NMSU crushes Grand Canyon. This gives SFA the outright 4th place in the division. No team ahead of us lost this week. The biggest games of the year are ahead this coming week. No realistic shot for SFA to take a top two spot, but a double bye is in our control. Have to have some big wins.

If I'm looking at the standings correctly all teams have four games remaining but New Mexico has played 1 less conference games? How does that work at the end of the season?

They are 12-2 just like Seattle.

UVU lost to Dixie State last night separating the top teams from the next level a little more.

Next two home games will most likely determine our seeding. Top four will give us a chance. 5 or 6 Would be too much to overcome most likely. Have to beat Sam and ACU

WAC site has them 11-2. Did not make up Lamar game?

Lamar forfeited. I think they knew what the result would be.

Seattle and New Mexico State playing right now. About 15 minutes left in the game NMSU up by 5. Any realistic chance (which admittedly is very small) of SFA getting to the 2 seed necessitates a Seattle win.

The funny thing is that mathematically there is an infinitesimal shot of SFA winning the league but NMSU would have to win this game. But realistically we should be rooting for Seattle.

Maybe. It's not inconceivable that Seattle loses their next two @Utah Valley and @Dixie State.

Same with Sam with games @SFA and @GCU.

The main hurdle for us is that game @NMSU where a loss would put us tied again, where we would lose the tie breakers.

Yep exactly. Like I said a complete long shot. If Seattle drops two on the road, Sam drops the GCU game and we win out, we could get the triple bye. Winning 4 out of our next 4 is going to be so tough.

Good article on Tarleton and Coach Gillispie.

Seattle 12-4
Sam Houston 12-4
Stephen F. Austin 11-4
Grand Canyon 10-5

As it stands, these would still be the current seedings for Las Vegas.

Saturday should be awesome.

ACU at SFA
Sam Houston at GCU
Seattle with a tricky game at Dixie State.

Chicago State MBB 61, New Mexico State 59.

If Sam and Seattle somehow lose tonight, drinks are on me.

Sam got destroyed 67-41 by GCU

and Dixie State leads Seattle 29-28 at the Half.

So we could realistically work out way into second place. New Mexico has two tough games left. THey get beat twice and we win twice, we will then be number two. Don't see Seattle losing their last game and they hold tie breaker over us.

We're in the outright third spot right now. Realistically this is as high as we're going. NMSU losing two at home when they have never (!) lost at home to a WAC team seems like a tough ask. Of course Chicago St winning was ridiculous.

Winning out would be great, but we just can't lose out.

Just like the ignorant or naive league coaches and media who picked Cal Baptist to waltz away with the WAC WBB title before the season began, an equally naive or ignorant Charlie Creme from ESPN has made his predictions on who will be named the WAC POY.

His #1 pick? Ane Olieta of 11-5 3rd place Cal Baptist. His #2 pick? Josie Williams of 9-7 4th place Utah Valley.

Not a mention of Stephanie or Aiyana or anyone else of 16-0 1st place SFA.

You need to get out of your ESPN cubicle up there in Connecticut more often, Charlie. Get out and get some fresh air, Charlie. And while you're at it, look at things other than scoring averages that come scrolling across your little PC screen. Here's an idea. Actually watch an SFA game or two on your own little ESPN+ channel.

Just an update on the standings.

Currently a three way tie for first with NMSU, Seattle and SFA. If all three win tomorrow it will be a 3-way shared title. And unfortunately we'd be the #3 seed in the tournament.

We have to win of course, but I don't see Seattle losing at home to Chicago State. But, NMSU vs Utah Valley could be interesting. The Aggies aren't playing particularly well, and already lost to Utah Valley last month. Would love to get that #2 seed.

I think a two seed doubles our chances of making the NCAA's.

Assuming SFA and Seattle win on Saturday:

A NMSU win puts us at the 3, and if we advance past the quarters, we would face Seattle, then the NMSU game winner in the finals.

5/6 winner > Seattle > NMSU semi winner

A NMSU loss puts us at the 2, and we would face the NMSU quarters winner

Winner of NMSU and 5/6 winner > Seattle semi winner

Obviously is we were to have NMSU again, I would rather do it fresh after they have played a game then after playing two in two days.

Wouldn't it be the 6/7 winner as the 3 seed? That's what the website says. Would be either Utah Valley or ACU

You're right. I really just meant the Wednesday game winner.

Well UVU's loss to GCU was huge. They play the late game Saturday night against NMSU. But they basically locked themselves into a 7 seed or worse. That means 5 games in 5 days to win the tournament.

Their coach either has to try to play spoiler for NMSU on Saturday or try to prep for a hellacious week. My guess is that they will just go all in on Saturday.

Seattle is the first WAC Champion in the gate.

CSU had them tied at 58 with 5 minutes left and couldn't score from there. Jacks up at 7.

Lamar beat Wiley College, almost lost to Our Lady of the Lake, and then lost to every single other team to end the year with 0 D1 wins making them tied for the worst D1 team in America.

Tarleton gave ACU a scare. Could have hit a three to send it to OT. ACU 6 seed.

This result means that Utah Valley has nothing to play for seeding-wise against NMSU tonight. Hope that doesn't keep them from playing hard.

UVU down 6 at the half.
