All of the places that these young ladies come from is amazing,. Four corners of the nation. From small local town Diboll to Houston and Dallas to Florida to Illinois to Washington to Puerto Rico, and all places in between. It's also amazing how the coaches are able to discover and recruit these girls. Usually what we see is the end product on the court, but there's a heck of a lot that goes on elsewhere the rest of the year that we never see or hear about. Debbie Humphreys and this Ladyjacks program have a national reputation and are a recruiting machine.

Well said Fanatic. Off-season is a complete misnomer for college coaches. They are always working, frequently away from home and family. How Humphreys, for example, has been able to change, adapt, and maintain a high level of energy and excellence for this long dazzles me.

Good story that includes Rosado, the freshman from Florida. I don't know that having Pagan helped recruiting, but I'm sure it didn't hurt. Their hometowns in Puerto Rico are not close.

Lots of new faces on the team this year. Hardly a day goes by that we don't get a "Say hello to" tweet from SFA Soccer. I didn't realize that the Ladyjacks lost so many players after last season.

Eight new volleyball players. Six freshmen, and two transfers.

Nine of the top twelve in sets played last year are returning, including Taya Mitchell using her Covid year. Miller graduated, and didn't use her Covid year. Hamster transferred to SC Upstate. I don't know why. Gillette transferred to ULL. She and Coach didn't see things the same, so she chose to leave.

Yes, a lot of newcomers, but high quality returning.

Procious, a projected starter for us didn't play. Hopefully nothing significant.

Our #2 setter, grad transfer Kodi Garcia, got sick Thursday morning and did not play. (Not Covid.) So, our second setter for all three matches was a freshman walk on. That, coupled with Procious being out, made Humphreys mix and match line ups.
