Ladyjacks score first, but lose to UT 3-1. Outshot by 22-10: 7-2 on goal. Ladyjacks battled, but the Longhorns are simply better. I was not disappointed by what we saw.

Next up is 1-3 Texas Southern on Sunday. Their lone win was 2-1 against UIW.

TSU came in at 1-4 having been out scored by 26-0 in the four losses. Shots were even at 14, but Ladyjacks did the job of putting it in the net. Next up is a home match against 4-1 LSU Alexandria. Obviously against inferior competition.

I've only seen a few clips but, they seem to have more long range threats than in recent years.

I think you are correct. I forget who took it now, but there was a beautiful shot from well outside of the box in the UT match that was diving for the far upper corner but hit the crossbar. The keeper had no chance.

I did not get to see them play UT but it sounds like Wally has the midfield synchronized better with the forwards. We are scoring against good squads even if it's only 1 goal. I think we should be competitive in the SLC. Maybe top 3 or 4.

Headed into conference play 2-4 against D1 teams. The four losses have been against decent teams. Our two wins against lesser teams have been dominant. So definitely room for an optimistic outlook.

Out shot 10-3 (3-1 on goal). Lose 1-0 to NWST. Very slow offensive effort at the conference opener. Not a pretty game all around, but we need some continuity of control back to front.

NSU was preseason #8 out of 12 SLC teams. This was a bad loss. No way to spin it any other way. First loss to NSU in 17 years.

Agreed. It was a bad loss. One pattern that seems to have emerged over the past 4-5 years . We play major conference teams tough (as a general rule, not always) and then play to tight against the average conference foe.

Yes. From a bigger picture perspective I absolutely believe the new AD has some plans that should help us. For me I would like some focus on these three or four items:

1. Get us an actual soccer facility
2. Track and field needs a home.
3. Improve Homer Bryce
4. Decide whether or not we can move baseball on campus in next 10 years....

76. You're correct. I don't have much of a perspective based on watch one game in person (partial UT) and a few minutes of LSU A online, but HBU holding us scoreless is all you need to know. Our scoring futility is back. The whole thing needs to be retooled, and a facility would help.

Can a soccer field fit within a track?

And if we can't put baseball/softball on campus, we should work with a developer to out the fields in an area where we can build up some infrastructure around them, like a downtown style area with restaurants & a few shops.

But let's just put it on campus.
