Four hits in nine innings won't win many games. Play an elimination game tomorrow at 6:30.
SFA vs McNeese @ 4:30. Hitting has been so inconsistent this year. We have the pitching but need hits. I am concerned with pitch selection as well. Someone mentioned that there is a stud pitcher coming in next year? Do we know who it is? But the issue will be will coach have a rotation with 3 pitchers.
Two pitchers signed. Reagan Chism, from Decatur, and Katie Hartwell, a lefty from Houston Christian. I found that Chism was 4A all-state last year.
We need hitters. Beyond Corona, it has been very sporadic. Should not have lost yesterday.

Sam dominated SLU 7-0. Nicholls run ruled NSU 9-0.

Maybe it is our day. NSU had second and third with one out top first, and Kriesel strikes out the next two. Long inning, but no damage done.

Edit: whoever is doing the online stats is doing crazy stuff. First it said Becker drove in two - then didn't. Then it said the leadoff batter singled, but it turns out it was a home run.

Why a pitching change so soon? Does not make any sense. Hey hitters are not hitting so let's make a change at pitching. Pitch selection again.
Kriesel out after 2.1 innings. Three hits, three walks, 62 pitches. Wilbur gets a quick two outs. Only behind 1-0, bottom third. If Ladyjacks don't get a hit, it won't matter.

After Wilbur pitches the fifth, 0-0 bottom of the inning. The walk Corona plan has worked in this game. Two walks and Bennett has hit into two double plays.
No score bottom sixth. Corona leading off. Wilbur took Bennett's place in the batting order, so she is on deck.

So is trying to draw a walk a good strategy in W softball? There in the bottom of 7th I would have wanted a baserunner and try to scratch in a run ..
When we win, need a fresh arm. Would have kept Kriesel in for a couple more innings so that Wilbur gets her rest for the next game. Interesting move though. Great game so far, but need hits. Their pitcher is throwing a lot of drop balls.
