That's why I'm looking forward to the Sam game this weekend. Some of their alums don't even believe they have a basketball program anymore.nacluth said:Utterly demoralizing teams one at a time.INiedrauer said:

Looks like they might have come around. Just saw a flyer the Athletics dept put out with Free Food,Music,Games before the games.. with owning a business in Stephenville for 4 yrs I know the free food thing at the university thing became HUGE!!!! It will draw the kids in thats for sure..TallTexan said:They'd have to admit that sports work as marketing for the university first.SfaTke596 said:
Why doesn't the marketing department at SFA take on this "attendance issue" as some sort of project?
Let's get the hospitality department involved with the "game experience" side of things.
It would be beneficial for the students involved- gives them a real world experience.
I'm sure I'm just tossing out ideas that have been discussed before...
Other than that though, it's an excellent idea to get students involved in making the university great. And they can put theory to practice.

Not a bad season at all. I'd love to see if we could hit a minimum of 3k per game next season.
I'd also like to move the Cram the Coliseum game to the first week students are back after Christmas.
We should have Hill call in some favors as his last official act at SFA. Certainly Boynton & Underwood want to bring their boys back to Nac for a visit right?SFA_03 said:
Why not have ever game be cram the Coliseum? Just to be safe.

Boynton and Underwood are probably the two people in the world least likely to bring their P5 team to Nac knowing what they know about playing here...

Attendance is as reported to the NCAA. No guarantees that I have not transposed a number or two, but nothing meaningful if I did.

I think attendance is one of the main things we need to fix for the upcoming basketball season. I really think we need to get the SFA business and marketing departments involved.
YES YES YES get the SFA business and marketing departments involved. Then maybe the professors will feel more needed and wanted and then they will let the Athletic Fee pass.. This is a great idea and it really wouldnt cost any $$ asking them for their input... Gotta work together..
That one is a real head-scratcher for me. Does the university inform students of games, other than those cute little "Game Today" signs around the campus? I agree that there should be at least 5,000 at EVERY game!SfaTke596 said:
Why aren't more people (specially students) showing up?

Unless we make it in the Big 12, week in and week out we wouldn't have huge names to draw crowds to home games. Heck, Texas is in the Big 12 & sometimes they can't get more than 3k people there.SFA_03 said:
There's just still a ton of apathy in our student body. The strength of opponents isn't getting better, especially not home games, and I know for a fact that the university promotes itself and the games very well both on social media and around campus. It's just a lot of students not caring enough unless it's Sam Houston or a nationally televised or recognized game.
How much do we control our own schedule? Like could we move midweek games to Tuesdays?sfa17 said:
But we cant blame only the students. We need more nac residents. Sfa mbb should be treated like a NBA team. Not just for sfa grad but locals who never attended sfa.

I'm not 100% sure what the percentage of Nac residents are who attend church on Wendesdays, but it affects a good number of people who would otherwise show up to support SFA.
