SFA moves up to 8 in the Coaches Poll!

Well, somebody needs to give a better assessment and deeper insight than I can for sure BUT….. Wowser! The new defense that was built from the ground up looks absolutely amazing! I know that was a big concern coming into the season since we knew the offense would be able to put some points on the board…. Let's say we win the conference again and have the appropriate ranking to get a first round by for the playoffs. Would Montana State be on the table again? Or is that just a luck of the draw situation based on the playoff bracket?

I agree with you that the defense is something special. I'm looking to see what the offense does. If we can get our passing game a little more tuned we should be good. Maybe even great.
I feel like, should we finish the regular season 11-1 or 12-0 we will have a first round bye. From there it's a total roll of the dice. That being said, our defense should carry us a ways.

It all depends where we get seeded in the bracket. I do have a feeling regardless, all roads will lead back to Montana State. We just have to hope it's in Nashville and not Bozeman.
I feel like a neutral site will even the playing field a bit.
I would really like our chances against Montana State, especially the way the Bobcats struggled against a less than average FCS team like Central Connecticut. Prairie View put up over 500 yards on Tarleton. I agree with the earlier assessment that if our passing game clicks, we're championship material. We have a couple tough conference games left but confidence is high

Edimo career likely over after dirty play by PV player.
Yes, I saw it at the 1:16 mark in the 1st quarter when Coach went out on the field to check on him.
The DB went low flipping Edimo over and holding his leg and instead of letting go he holds it while he turns bending it badly and then the DB points down at him and then proceeds to act out a limp as he walks back.

The PV fans were awesome. The PV players were dirty. That is what it is.
I was maybe 20 yards from where it happened. A ref was right there looking at it. No idea how a flag wasn't thrown.
12 is lucky one of our guys didn't try and get payback.
Not said enough . We are fortunate to have Carthel.

What amazes me most about Edimo is that he is a man of the Lord and totally is at peace with what happend because he has faith in the way the Lord will write his story. This young man gets it and will make a comeback with the Lord by his side.. He is determined to comeback even better and the whole time use his platform to spread Gods word.. He is 100% NFL caliber and is very thankful for the support SFA and Nacogdoches gives him and will be supporting him in his comeback.. He believes in finding the good in all situations even when they aren't in your favor.. He is happy that his buddy Cameron Kelly will now get his chance to shine.. Kelly will be a huge impact player for us just watch and support our team.. AxeEm
Thats good to hear about Edimo's character and his attitude towards team and life.
Certainly wish him all the best and complete recovery.

DOWN GOES MONTANA STATE!!!
Idaho wins in a walk off 2 point conversion on literally the worst example of clock management I've seen in my entire life by Montana State.

A 25 yard TD pass with no time left, followed by a 2-point conversion. Formerly 0-4 Idaho beats formerly 5-0 MSU. The very same Idaho that had lost to Lamar and ACU.
I'm sure the SFA coaches will be harping on the Jacks today and every game to take absolutely no one lightly.
EDIT: I read today that Montana State had four FCS All-Americans out with injuries. That may have had just a teenie weenie bit to do with the outcome.

Stayed up way too late to watch that one. Great game. Poorly managed by Montana State. In the end they deserved the L. Losing some FCS All Americans suck but that's why you teach your backups to be All American and have depth.

Justin Lamson, Taco Dowler, and Adam Jones, all guy who torched us last year, were out with injury.
But reading on MSU fan forums, apparently their defense has looked bad all year, and they're thinking the injuries didn't matter because their offense still played great.
The Montana state fans are breaking down because of this one.
Gritty Win last night!! Like Carthel said "lots of things to fix" but we needed a tough one to get ready for the hard road ahead! Glad to see Wayland get the job done when we had to have it. Kicker needs some hugs. Onward!!

Carthel signed until 2031. Glad we got this done especially with Baylor and maybe Sam in the near future.

As of today, Sam Houston fired its HC. Happy we got this done!

I didn't really see any danger of Carthel going to prison town if we didn't.
SFA has a vision for its program moving forward. Sam Houston doesn't.
And I doubt they could offer enough money to make the move worth it.
The only one that worries me at the moment is Texas State if Baylor takes Kinne.
If Sam Houston is smart they go after Shannon Dawson.

Zero chance he gives up his $9 million a year salary unless he really, really wants to cut his teeth as a head coach.
I don't think Carthel goes anywhere, he has made it clear he likes where he is, plus he is getting all new facilities and has business interests in Nac. and Lufkin with his wife, and again building a powerhouse program for many years to come.
