I don't how to post a picture on here, but the text below is copy and pasted from a Twitter message from Chris Ross.

I absolutely loved SFA. I have not applied for a job since the 90s. I turned down FBS jobs (and a LOT more money) both years because I agree with everything you said about SFA and the community. The thing that no one can understand is this wasn't a football move. I turned down roughly double my salary to be the OC in the mountain west or in the sunbelt. I would have actually been playing coach Mutz! That would've been funny! He left for football. Totally understandable. I left for family. I don't think that's wrong. I understand if people thought I should've stayed. I take that as a compliment. I just didn't want people (you) to think we left because we didn't love SFA. Always will.

I wonder what the bill would be on a new locker room and a state of the art one at that?

LSU spent $29M on theirs in 2019 which is the highest priced locker room to date.

Maybe $300K to $1M for a FCS program like SFA, $1K to $2K a locker?

Tarleton spend around $655K on theirs.

People could pay for or donate per locker.

I think you would just tie that all in together with a new Stadium and new lockers all in one. Versus just upgrading one at a time.

I think first thing first we need that Stadium vision to life and get that start rolling within a year or two.

Not within a year or two it needs to be now.. wish I knew how to do it but I don't... for example go look at Texas Am Texarkana they just got a new coach and program and are already in the process of building a new up to date football facility.. Stadium and field house nutrition cafeteria.. Why can't our higher ups make this friggin happen?? I do understand no steady president for past 6-7 yrs but damn it is confusing.. Becasue I know a lot of Lumberjacks with a lot of money but nothing is ever given like it could.. don't get me wrong there are a butt load of huge supporters than I am thankful for but there are a whole lot of them out in da woods that will jump on a train only when it's rolling.. it's rolling and time to jump on for football.. We have great staff to make it happen.. I love Matty B as our MBB coach.. please higher ups start this project now!! I have heard how we are going to push for student fee and I love it.. Come on any student s that read this, a strong athletic program enhances the college experience!!

I would leave it alone.. Coach Ross is a great Christian man and was moved that way.. Only thing that's sucked was that when he took the job Coach May could of been there instead and Coach May would be going into year 4 with us as an OC..Unless Colby is upset about Coach Ross leaving then leave it alone.. We keep getting punched but we find a way to get better.. I feel we are building a squad..

I agree. Chris reached out to me. I wasn't starting drama. I just thought I'd share some insight on why he left.

Yep. Coaches leave for any number of reasons, it sucks we lost Coach Ross to an FCS school that doesn't have THAT much more to offer, but it is what it is.

As I said above, the FCS powerhouses lose coaches and players all the time and always recover, rebuilt, and quickly get back into the championship mindset. To me this offseason is just the next hurdle SFA needs to get over to get to the dream of being an FCS power

Yes, he comes from a good family, I know his aunt (retired school teacher), niece (nurse at a local clinic), and nephew (minister in Flower Mound) all good folks that give a lot to the community.

Not to mention he did a lot for this area in central Texas, coaching at Cedar Park High and Leander High where he was the AD.

I agree we need to get the ball rolling but thats what needs to posted now for the new year. Start getting players hyped for the new stuff.

See that we have also lost our long kicker, Jacob Hand to Texas Tech.

Not surprising when you can kick a 56 yarder.

"The coaches were super welcoming and treated me like I was a part of a family right from the start," says Hand, on why he chose Texas Tech. "There are a lot of resources for me to get better at my job and recover.
The facility and the field were probably my favorite. This was the first time I've seen the field and the facilities in person and it was unreal."

Also had offers from Memphis, Nevada, South Florida, UTEP, Ohio, and Sam Houston
