Honestly 4460, you are on the inside and the kool-aid they are giving you must be really good! I poured it out a a couple of seasons ago! Give me something to be proud of, and ALL my comments will be positive! If we keep floating along in the same boat year after year, my support will probably disintegrate to nothing and I will no longer care or pay attention!! I am headed that way...

Careful on who you compare your support of and contributions to SFA. You obviously don't know much about him, but 76 is probably the biggest supporter and alumni of SFA in many, many ways. He and his wife support the university with actions and not just words.

And BTW, 4460 doesn't comment here on the forums much, but, as you say, he is an "insider" and therefore has knowledge about SFA athletic programs that he occasionally shares - especially football - that the rest of us very much appreciate.

I don't reply often, but there is too much arguing and doom-and gloom going on this post. In the words of the great philosopher Taylor Swift, you need to calm down. Here this team sits at 6-4 with two games left in the season, and some of you have already given up on them. I hope the young men on this team don't have that attitude, as I am pretty sure they don't. Yes, ETAM was ugly. Some of the other games earlier were not that pretty, either. But yet, here they sit at a .600 record, which is progress compared to last year, and with a lot of new faces. I'm actually encouraged with what I have seen- there are certainly more bright spots so far than not-so-bright ones. So cheer up, and let's see how this plays out. Last time we were in the playoffs we did so with a 7-4 record. Maybe we end up 8-4 or 7-5, then we leave it up to the committee. Even if they don't make the playoffs, that still is great progress. Heck, even 6-6 would be progress.

Love the optimism Ginger.

Hey JackFanactic, maybe you and your buddies listen to your own advice!!! That would be great for this forum!! I have only been here for a few years, but some of ya'll do a fantastic job of being critical to other members opinions.

In regards to the 6 wins, Carthel is 31-32 at SFA in 6 years. We have fired several other coaches with better records in the past 28 years.... Carthel "chose us" and was supposed to take us to the "promise land" in Football????

I don't have personalized license plates.

Wish I personalized SFA plates rather than regular SFA plates, but I made an additional contribution for the difference in county registration fees directly to SFA... I would rather benefit the University directly.

Im happy with Carthel but if we can do better we should do better. Carthel been a fantastic recruiter and bringing great young men into the program. The problem is elevating them to get to that next step of being a yearly playoff contender. Sucks this year at the end has been riddled with injuries at QB and RB. But I still hope this is a bright future. But does suck we only get maybe one more year of Vidlak.

Also all the licence plate is funny when you don't even live in Texas anymore... Vidlak did go to the school just south of my town interesting enough. Some of my co workers knew of him out of HS.

This is just an idea for a theme game next year, but we should have one where we host a naturalization ceremony at half time.

Do a red white & blue game, have the band play some patriotic songs throughout the game, & then host the naturalization ceremony in front of a bunch of cheering fans.

Would be awesome to see and not something I've seen another school do before.

Gonna be a lovely day in the Piney Woods, so the family is loading up and headed to Nac.

Don't know that I expect much from this game, I think it's clear UIW is a better team

Curious to see how we respond. A great mark of coaching and leadership is that you can motivate your team under any circumstances. My educated guess is that we play hard, we just dont have the horses (especially offensively) to keep up.

Something like a 31-17 UIW win would seem plausible.

Announcers said game time decision but Rutherford getting the start. They implied that Vidlak will not play.

Defense starting strong. Lot of pressure on them to keep UIW off the board if offense sputters like last week.

Audible groan from crowd (at least in my section) when Carthel goes for it on 4th 7 with a QB that can't throw.

UIW, of course, rips off 60 yards immediate play after.

Should have kicked the field goal. 55 yards in got to kick it.

I would have punted to try and trap them deep. 4th and 7 is too far with the current offense. We were at the 40 so that would have made it a 57 yard FG attempt. Pretty long boot but would have been my 2nd choice.

Offense looking ok, but we have to catch passes.

Rutherford still over throwing almost each time. Had hoped another week of practice would have helped his timing.
