I think we win 2/3, non-conference. LaTech is get able, but will be a serious challenge. A win in Ruston would set the table nicely.

La Tech is certainly our most winnable FBS game in the past 20 years. We just need to go into that game like we did Texas Tech and we will win.

Ironically, the last time SFA won a FBS game, was against Louisiana Tech during the 2000 season.

The Jacks won 34-31 in Ruston and later went on that season to beat Jacksonville State 27-21 in Jacksonville.

SFA went 6-4 that season.

Great information. We go 10-1 / 11-0 regular season.

Being the first college football game of the entire college football season will make it likely one of the most watched games of the entire FCS season. Probably moreso than playoff games.

Wasn't ULM FBS in 2003?

Yes, ULM was FBS in 2003 and that same year we beat the piss out out of FIU, who made the jump to FBS the next season.

Makes you wonder what SFA football might look like if we maintained the 90s momentum into the 2000s. We'd probably have the most dominant program in the FCS.

SFASawmillGuy

Health depending, he will be punting in the NFL after he's done here. Punting and kicking are the two positions where the competition you play against really doesn't matter, and his ability to put the ball deep in opponents territory is already one of the best in all of college football.
