Carthel going in a different direction with his staff. Proven coaches, jumping on board. Makes you think he wasn't to fond of being left, and watching our players follow. Or maybe I'm just reading into things that aren't really there.

Still a good hire in my opinion, as he gets to come home and start a new and his style fits the players at SFA.

Love it. I remember looking at his resume when we were looking for an HC.

Runs a really aggressive defense and forces a lot of interceptions.

Glad that between him and Bliel we're getting coaches who've coached in the deep south. Nobody produces elite offensive and defensive line talent like the deep south. That could be a long term advantage when we start playing those MVFC teams more regularly.

Pretty much handed the keys to a Ferrari like his first season at Valdosta state, so I'm hoping for the same result.

Odd the school hasn't been making a bigger deal that we're literally kicking off the entire CFB season in the FCS classic. Nationally televised game. Playing in a historic stadium that hosts an FBS bowl game. I would hope we can get a decent presence there for what will essentially be a JSU home game.

Also looks like the jacks will be racking up those miles. Only 4 home games I saw on the schedule. 2 neutral site games. And 5 road games.

Disappointing if only 4 home games. The Classic is really a JSU home game. So this team will need to live up to the hype and expectations with so many road games.
Of course if SFA takes care of business on the road, could mean 2 or 3 home playoff games!!

It is only January. We still have basketball going on. Bowling has started their season. Track and field, baseball, and softball are about to start. Plus being down people in the department. I'm sure they'll make a big deal out of it the closer it gets.

The schedule posted on FBSschedules has us playing at Nicholls and home against Lamar on the same day. My guess is that Nicholls gets moved to a later date.
