Gonna be tough sleddin for. SLU next few games. Forty point loss to LSU and fifty to Nebraska. What does this tell us about SLU? Today they just looked outmatched at every position. Nichols looks better at this point(including us). We should be a lot better when get Aaron and hopefully John back. I will feel better if we compete with Miami. Yeah, with the new NET criteria, winning by 10 or 40 is essentially the same.
It's unclear how blowout losses affect a team. The #1 criterion in the new system is a Team Value index - which is basically "how the selection committee feels about the value of specific teams." The NET algorithm essentially gives a stat to defend their bias. If SFA is blown out by 40 by a P5 school, how do they feel about us. The same as a 2 point loss to Buffalo in Ireland?

It was fun. Arena is in the middle of campus and hard to find. Really nice inside, seats around 5k. Crowd was late arriving and not very large. Student section however was full and loud. They were there 40 minutes before tip when I walked in, and stood the entire game.
Have a pic or two I will try to share later.

Sorry I've been in New York, here are a few from the Loyola Chicago game.
Nice and intimate arena.
As of tonight, 14 of the 15 teams in the ACC have no more than one loss. Six have no losses (Miami is one), and only Syracuse has two. Some have predicted that as many as 10 ACC teams could make the Big Dance after all is said and done.
Oregon paid Texas Southern to beat them in Eugene 89-84.
Texas State is 8-1. Averaging nearly 74 ppg.
Average home attendance for three games is 2,358.
Illinois is 3-7. 0-2 in conference.

I hate the idea of a 17k seat arena, tarped off for 10k for hoops. I understand the loss of the Erwin Center and for other events, yada yada. But still.

I also found interesting the comment that UT may lose recruiting battles by not having an adjacent practice facility. Here's hoping that having an adjacent facility will really help SFA recruiting when ours is done in a couple of years.
And they claim that the tarps won't be removed for Kansas games. Yeah, I'll believe that when I see it.

Ya it's going to be a mess. I'm surprised that Del Conte is going forward with that given his focus on fan experience & home field advantage. But it's hard to turn down what is essentially a free stadium.
ATX has plenty of money to have someone build their own, maybe up near the Domain.
Having a venue that is events first and basketball second is going to hurt the basketball program.
Worse than the damage Shaka is doing?
