Zhaire Smith officially to Texas Tech.
between texas and tech, tech would likely give him more playing time. Minutes at texas with their current and future roster would be unlikely . I wouldn't be surprised if tech goes 4 years without a single ncaa tournamnet. The big 12 is a meat grinder.
Chris sodom 7'2 center former New Mexico recruit reopen his recruitment. 4 * espn and VC player. Played with Mack in aau. Hope Keller looks at him. Looks a bit raw but as 4 star he could improve.
Edit: he is also friends with a girl who is going to be on our track team next season. He tweeted her congratulations. I'm just grasping at straws.

I don't think that's good news but there's plenty of time. Definitely a lot less confident sounding than a few weeks back when it was a home run. As I mentioned, the only thing that could've spoiled it in their mind was it going public and to my knowledge that didn't happen... so we'll see.

That could be and mean a lot of things. But anything there would be speculation on my part.
What's the contingency plan? If we don't get this guy, do we sign someone else?
I'm always worried when decisions get moved out, because they have an opportunity cost.

I have a guestion on new recruits coming in. At what point do they start getting involved with the program? At time of enrollment? Will they be playing summer ball outside the school? My buddy and I was discussing this and neither of us knew the answer.

Not 100% sure without diving into the official rule book. But I think everyone's different. I know of players (in various sports) that move to the school in the summer to begin workouts, but that doesn't mean they are officially practicing with the team. I believe they'd have to enroll in summer classes in order to participate in team practices, but could be wrong there.
I see where Bogues is playing in the NJCAA all star game today. Wonder if there is a link to watch?

Bogues was named a NJCAA Honorable Mention All American. Really looking forward to the offense that Bogues, Mack, and Comeaux will bring to the table next season! And our depth should be amazing.sfa17 said:

I'll be posting a more in-depth update a little later this week. A couple 2017 notes, though:
Obviously we've talked about a true center being the remaining piece that this staff covets. Although the potential big signing we talked about last week is likely that, transfer rules would keep them out this coming season even if it does end up working out.
However, there may be another project in the works. We have some information that Keller spent this last weekend out of the country courting a big-time player who would be eligible immediately. The same source told me on Sunday night that SFA is officially in the running. In my last scoop piece, I firmly believed that there would be at least one more major contributor in 2017 not yet on the roster. When Edogi and another graduate transfer didn't work out, I questioned if I jumped the gun. Maybe not.

We're gonna have to file FOIA requests for his ticket stubs. The wait is killing me.

This is probably the safe thing to do. I do think there will be another piece added and I'll report everything I learn, even if it gets our hopes up for nothing, but our current roster with no changes is already the envy of the SLC.
