That makes sense, but it partially puts a damper on flight watching. Though there are some pretty cool companies/cities flying in and out of Nac.
Ooh, somebody let Nacluth know that we need his ninja skills to infiltrate the air vents & gather intel.SFAJack_76 said:

I'd guess this is a pairing down of the candidates list, or a go ahead to move forward with more in-depth interviews?SFAJack_76 said:

Given the original timeline, I suspect it is both. A cut to the top three to four, with plans for in-depth interviews of those.TallTexan said:I'd guess this is a pairing down of the candidates list, or a go ahead to move forward with more in-depth interviews?SFAJack_76 said:

Also worth noting that UAFS released a Top Candidate List of the finalists. Wish SFA would do the same when they have a list & visits confirmed.BigJack85 said:
I'm surprised that there hasn't been ANY information at all that gives us any idea of what direction they are going. I was hoping to see a finalist list soon.

There was a flight, on a super small plane this morning from Fort Smith Arkansas. The president there just started last week, so we're definitely not getting her, but I'm sharing her profile because she has exactly the type of background we need.

Here is the link to the special called meeting. Note that it is taking place at the IAH Marriott. Two 13 hour days of executive session scheduled. That implies to me that one or more candidates are being interviewed. Perhaps you recall that Ivey interviewed the football HC finalists in Houston.Jacks4460 said:
SPecial called meeting July 19-20 and the only thing on the agenda for both days is Presidential search.. Then on july 21-23 during a regular meeting they will name a finalist I would think... I will look at the agenda and such tonight becasue it is 616 pages and i dont have that much time to ready right now...
Link to all 616.Jacks4460 said:

I'll offer a rebuttal. The lady has a good background and sounds like a team player with solid political instincts (see part about joining the chamber of commerce). But... I would like to see some of the background and political instincts coupled with a proven ability to build stem programs and grow enrollment. SFA is close enough to a "Doctoral - Moderate Research Activity" category to be a real good landing spot for a Dean of Engineering at a bigger school to come to SFA and really transform the STEM side of the university.
I dont doubt that we need some of the skills the new chancellor at UAFS has demonstrated but I believe a more science centered academic leader would help at this time.

Well, definitely went that science route. Hmmmm time will tell. I have some friends that worked at EWU several yrs and just left. Think I will message them to see what they have to say about Gordon.
Good find. I would imagine this was something that was of real interest to the BOR.SfaFan15 said:

This is pretty interesting. I like what I've read about Dr. Gordon so far.
