The wheels are starting to come off. Still some hope, but they need to get out of this slump.

On the topic of facilities, the only hope I could see is some MLB baseball alumni or big baseball fan alumni pouring money specifically for the sport. The priority is Football and Basketball, which makes sense. It's the two biggest college sports by a large margin and the biggest money makers. So it's gonna have to come from a different spot.

With the cost of construction today, personally I just don't see it happening. 5-10 million atleast to get both baseball and softball into new stadiums. And to say nothing of support facilities.

Sadly, Texan is probably right about new construction. Baseball has always been an afterthought at SFA and is likely WAY down the list of projects and "to do" list. Outside $$ would be the only hope.

Just think if SFA had real facilities....they could recruit East Texas, Louisiana, Houston and Dallas areas. Wouldn't get the guys bound for UT, A&M or TCU but could land many of the next level guys and be very competitive in the WAC every season. That would be fun...............

I'm not the world's biggest baseball fan even if I want Cardenas and company to do well.

But that is a question that's crossed my mind it we don't have a plan to ever have semi competitive facilities.

The year seemed to start reasonably well. I wasn't expecting miracles but I was very hopeful they could stay in the top half of the WAC. Once film was out on Lumberjack pitchers, that hope was squashed. The team is in danger of not making the tournament.

So our hope to steal the 8th spot is probably to hope UTRGV or UVU trips up this coming weekend while we're playing OOC and then win atleast 2 of 3 against UTRGV the next weekend?

It's too bad one of the UTRGV vs. GCU games was canceled. One more loss (assuming GCU would have won) by UTRGV would make this a little easier.
