I'm all for aggressive defense, but we commit an inordinate amount of fouls 25+ feet from the basket.
I will say, I'm impressed with the strategy by Keller here, press the team without a PG. Working well it we can keep the fouls down.
If we can stay in it with Gru getting minutes then that's a good sign. He just completely left Ado open in the paint expecting a screen at the top. Nieminen isn't flashy but he makes the offense run very smooth while in.

I'LL TAKE IT.
The good:
- Shannon Bogues is just as good against the SEC as he is DIII. Holy hell he's quick.
- Haven't seen defense this tenacious since that first game against A&M-CC last year. Before that? West Virginia.
- Aaron is playing really well running the offense. Haven't looked at the stats but the ball movement has (at times) looked really good. Definitely best of the Keller era.
- I thought Jovan put together a few solid minutes against guys his size. Would like to see some more of him in the second half - just not offensively.
The bad:
- I know it goes with the tenacious defense but FOULS. That's gonna be a problem in the second half.
- I thought we missed a lot of opportunities offensively. Guys broke open down low and I almost feel like the game plan has conditioned our guards to not look there.
- Ado. That guy is a freaking stud.
- Need to get Kevon going. We won't win with 0 points from him.

Very proud of that half of play from us. Not perfect but we still played very well. Like I've said earlier, we will learn when to back off the pressure in certain situation and that takes time. I'd prefer us to back off the aggression from the on-ball defender to prevent us from getting way out of position in the half court D so often and causing fouls. But like I said, we will keep getting better and that was still a great half.
That first half was better than any combined 15 minutes of last season.

Not in Starkville apparently.
Holy cow! We are really playing well and we could be up by more if we knew how to take charges. That said, the offense has been great, and spacing has been the best so far. Keller's offense is taking form and they look well prepared. Turnover issues look improved too. Keep it up and bravo Jack's!
I love watching our team play like that. Let's tone down the fouls and bring it home.

Exactly what I saw, I think the guards are scared of their length causing tipped pass but an immediate pass to those cutters won't get tipped. Also agree on getting Kevon going, just waiting on him to get going.
We controlled the whole half. Fouls was the only thing keeping the game close. I can't believe my own eyes
We're up by 8 without any contributions from Kevon? We might be able to put this game away if he gets going.

I'm damn near thrilled to see the way the guys are playing tonight. They haven't looked like "SFA" to me in a while. I see it tonight!
