I guess it depends what's budgeted. We've rarely filled our scholarship limits in the past. I doubt that's changing anytime soon.

It's fluid. I have confidence that the scholarship budget at SFA is not being increased in 2025-2026. For any sport.

If true, this young man doesn't send shivers up my leg, but he'd add even more depth to an already deep bench.
A little lesser clone of Thomas Bell at UNT a few years ago when they were really good. Floor is going to be high because he plays so hard and will do the little things that wins you a lot of games.

F: ELTRAMON SMITH JR. 6-8 Atlanta, Georgia (Spire Academy/Barton CC) (So.)
GP:30;GS:15;PPG:9.0;FG%:52.2;3PT%:50.0;FT:63;RPPG:4.5;BLKS:30
Offers from SFA, Georgia Southern

  • Played for a Top 25 team Barton CC team that finished 26-9, where he played in all 30 games, starting 15 as a true freshman including the last 14 games, as the Cougars made it to the Championship Game for Region 6, going on to the NJCAA Division I Championship second round before losing 70-73.
  • Smith had a season high 20 points against Colby CC.
  • Averaged 12.2 points as a starter.

I know this guy has had some incredible coaching. I see he went to Spire Academy. I used to live very close to it, and it has a sterling reputation for producing incredible basketball players.

For some reason he reminds me of Leon Gilmore. Left handed and mobile but can shoot from outside better.

Leon Gilmore. That's a good man to compare him to. Went on to play pro ball in Eastern Europe for a while, as I recall.
