From the last Roster update I think we are 12. So one more makes sense. Unless Ethan Mayes became a scholarship player or stays walk on then we are at 11.

From Sawmill FB they say we have one more spot to fill. But I swore I saw we can go to 15 now but I also recall it can be 13 with 2 walk ons. So that may be Coachs route he wants to go.

DENVER The University of Denver men's basketball program has signed guard Marcus Scurry to join the program ahead of the 2025-26 season, head coach Jeff Wulbrun announced on Thursday.

Scurry is coming off a junior campaign that saw him lead his high school team to the Georgia state semifinals in 2024. In that junior season, he averaged 10.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.1 steals per game.

"Marcus is a dynamic point guard, who is a jet with the ball in transition and excellent at creating advantages in ball screen situations," Wulbrun said. "He is an elite level defender and takes a great deal of pride in impacting the game defensively with his pressure. He poses problems for opposing defenses because of his quickness and speed at getting to the basket, his three-point shooting ability and his understanding of how to read defenses and make the appropriate play as a facilitator. He has always valued his academic achievement and is a young man with tremendous character and integrity who will be a great addition to our program."

This team could have tons of potential. Shooting shouldn't be an issue. Good things happen if you can score.

Wondering which of these guys will be our second point guard... Scurry, perhaps? But that would be a huge responsibility for a freshman.

BTW, I noticed that he is follwed on his X account by Coach Maeurer and by Matt Rocco from Sawmill 6th Man.

Looks like he played point in HS.

I've got to say, his highlight videos look very good! Quick, good shooter from distance and mid-range, and extremely athletic. Coach Baeurer just may have dug up a diamond in the rough.

If I had to bet, Keon and Ahamed will be rotating at point guard. Interested to see how good Ahamad is.
