How do we feel about him helming the offense?

From the resume I'd think he would be pretty good but I don't pay nearly as much attention to football nowadays.

there probably won't be much growing pains at all with the offense under him. Should be able to pick right back up where they left off.

Probably the single biggest reason for the promotion as they try to keep and maintain the momentum of the program's rise.

Was the Quality Control Coach at Baylor last season.

Arlington, Texas native who played at Martin, coached DB's at Arlington Seguin High, then graduate assistant at Washington, then on to Wyoming, De Anze College, before he landed at Baylor where he also worked with the DB's.


He was an all-conference DB at HCU in 2014, but originally went to Oregon when he was ranked nationally #25 CB by Scout, before transferring to HCU.

The fortunate part about the single transfer portal window is players can't be poached in the spring like they used to be. They're "stuck" with us until next January.

I say that now and somehow will be proven wrong in a couple of weeks.

Carthel should run a coach search agency, everybody seems to like who he picks.

I was thinking about where we'd play and honestly the options are not good. I'd prefer Lufkin HS over Nac. Thought about rose Stadium in Tyler, but the two tyler high schools, TJC, and Texas college share it. Probably going to be hard to get a time slot there

That is going to be the bad thing for 2027. Attendance will be incredibly poor, probably 1-2k. The Gameday experience will be bad.

But it will be worth it if we get a brand new state of the art stadium out of it. I would expect the season opener of 2028 to be an easily sold out crowd, and maybe even garner national attention like getting the FCS kickoff on ESPN in Nac if we can maintain the success.

Also worth noting Titus Vidlak did like my post with the stadium renderings, so here's hoping if he doesn't get playing time at Montana State he decides Nac is where he belongs.

Honestly, I would prefer Nac HS over Lufkin, so you could ship students by bus with ease. They do it already for the space area north of town for Astronomy Class. Why not add a stop for Game Day on Saturday?

Keep it close so you don't pull a Sam Houston and become a laughingstock when only 100 people fill a giant Shell Energy Stadium.

Exactly.

Being selfish on my end a Tyler game would be great for me. I would miss getting to Nac early for some Butcher Boys, but a short trip to Rose Stadium would be nice.
