Carthel has ties to Angelo St so I would expect he is aware of Mr Clark.

2022 SEASON

Angelo State went 13-1, undefeated in conference play 9-0; 6-0 on the road, winning the Lone Star Conference Championship and climbing to #2 in the NCAA Div. II ranks.

They defeated

#12 Colorado School of the Mines on the road 30-27 in OT
#15 Texas A&M - Kingsville 34-7
#4 Bemidji State 33-7

Lost to Colorado School of the Mines in the second round of the playoffs 24-42

2021 SEASON

The Rams went 11-3; 5-2 in conference play (finished 2nd)

Defeated

#22 Lindenwood 40-20 on the road

Made it to the quarterfinals in the playoffs losing 26-34 to the Colorado School of Mines

2020 SEASON (No Season, played 4 games)

Defeated Abilene Christian 34-21
Played SFA tough (It was 17-12 in the 3rd quarter before SFA pulled away)

Unless they lose a lot of players to the portal, they should be good in 2023 as well with only 13 seniors on the 2022 squad.

I wouldn't be opposed to the HS DC option, but I wish he was in a better market for recruiting connections.

The A&M Commerce DC, Kyle Williams, has pretty good stats for his defenses, even looking at the transfer between divisions.

I'd have him on the list too.

Faske would have been the choice before we hired a dc with no chance of staying like Cauthen. Faske had no dc experience but last year we needed chemistry and we lacked that with Cauthen. Now we will have a new system minus a db coach (white). These are the young men you started this journey with and the get another learning last year! Clark has did well and has gotten the most out of what he has to work with.
