Free tickets helped too.
Those that I saw that were free had been paid for by someone. What did I miss?

Nothing. Community came together to pack out an important game.

FAU is a beast of a team.

I want this for us soon. I think the Duke team was that team, but I don't want it as a what if.

Right Texan…I pulled for GCU and am pulling for UVU to win the NIT. But it grates me that we're not there. We have to get back at the top.

Being healthy will be a good step in the right direction. This team was held together by duck tape and bubble gum at times and still had a small chance to win the conference going into the last week.

That takes talent and grit, now we just need enough gas in the tank with a full healthy squad.

I'm placing the following in several places here on The Sawmill so that everyone sees it and is aware of its message. I feel that it's that important.

I recently joined the Sawmill6thMan collective. This is an NIL collective that financially supports the SFA Jacks MBB players. I encourage other Jack fans to join, too. Monthly memberships are available for as little as $10 per month, and I'm sure they'll gladly accept one-time donations. 100% of the money goes directly to the athletes!! This organization is not and cannot be (by NCAA rules) connected to SFASU. It is administered by SFA alums, most of whom are local businessmen.

For details, go over to the SFA NIL thread in the General Discussion Forum.

We say that we want to compete with the Big Boys to get the best players to come here, so we need to act like it! Please consider joining.

Seems like high school players getting phased out in D1 recruiting. The portal seems to be the ticket.

Yep, it's a trend that is only getting worse.

But, I also think it's going to somewhat even out, at least a little. The kids that are actually good enough and maybe not recruited, will be able to go to JUCOs or smaller schools and then transfer. They may not want to start there, but it may actually be best for them.

We're seeing more and more non-P5 kids transferring up (North Carolina just got a kid from Brown for example), and more non-P5's taking JUCO and DII kids. It's a cycle.

It's just a different era, 4-year kids are going to be non-existent.

Remember that there are still some significant number of Covid year folks in the system. Once that is done, the number of available D1 scholarships will be the same as it was. Perhaps even more with schools moving up from D2.

C-USA is now 17-1 in post-season play. Charlotte won the CBI, UAB and UNT are in the NIT final, and FAU is in the Final Four. Impressive.

Yep. It's a good basketball conference which is the only thing I'm jealous about Sam and NMSU going there.

Remains to be seen how strong CUSA will be going forward.

All 5 of their postseason teams are headed to AAC.
TallTexan

Ran the NET.

Current CUSA: Avg 144
New CUSA: Avg 152.8

Current WAC: 156
New WAC: Avg 161.4

If ACU and UTA find their rhythm again, it might be enough to surpass them for 10th best conference.
TallTexan

New AAC will be right around 140, so 9th best conference might be in reach too.

Good for him. He should be a starter there.

Absolutely. He should thrive against inferior competition in the SWAC. Close to home, too.

Shamir Bogues going to Vermont.

Kind of an odd choice, but a great program.
