Be sure to check out the article on SFAJacks.com about the softball team's seven signees yesterday. On paper at least, this is an absolutely outstanding group of athletes. That new coaching staff has obviously really been hitting the recruiting trail hard and landed some softball gold, including plucking a couple of excellent Beaumont area players from right under Lamar's noses. I look forward to seeing them grow and mature over the next four years. Can definitely see a couple of SLC championships in their future.

Got the season off to a nice start with a 10-0 win over Grambling and 7-1 over UT Martin. UT Martin is picked to finish second in the OVC.
Win over Memphis this morning 5-3 to get to 5-4 on the season.
8-4 win over Jackson State to go to 6-4 on the season.
Nice wins today. Wish we could have handled the Lady Demons.
Their first 15 games on the road. Who developed this schedule??

The crazy schedule got crazier with the tournament at Ole Miss getting rained out and going to Conway instead to play in a tournament being hosted by UCA. Run ruled in the first game by Kansas 11-1 in five. Used three two-out singles in the bottom of the seventh to beat Coppin State. Now 7-5 on the season with single games each Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Continuing the road warrior ways, run ruled Mississippi Valley 8-0 in six innings. Did it against a bad team, but still did it.
Next game will be much more challenging against U of H.

9-9 on the season after going 2-3 over a three day period in Houston. Two of the losses were to U of H. Beat Southern 7-0 this morning.

Start conference play with a doubler header sweep of A&M Corpus. 5-4 in game one and five inning 10-0 run rule in game two.
Five in the bottom of the ninth to overcome A&M Corpus four in the top to win 6-5 for the three game sweep!

6-2 win at Prarie View to go to 14-9 on the season with a six game win streak. Continue on the road for the next eight games including three game series at Nicholls and Lamar and single games at Texas Southern and UT.
Two bottom of the seventh walk off losses at Nicholls. 2-1 and 4-3. Attempt to salvage one from the series today.

6-0 win today over UCA to take the series 2-1. Ladyjacks (21-16/9-6 SLC) are in a three way tie for fourth place in the SLC, two games out of first.
Head coach Nicole Dickson may be one of Robert Hill's best hires. This team has gone from bad to very competitive in less than two years. And, this is with them having to play their home games off campus at the city rec league ball parks. I love her energy, and open and honest assessment of the team; where they are and what needs to happen to improve.

Ladyjack Softball beats HBU 3-2 in 10 innings in the first of two. Ladyjacks are 22-17 and 10-6.
