UTRGV is "the only game in town" down there in the valley, and they do it right. Fireworks, little kids playing on the side (like at the slopes of Homer Bryce). Lots of sponsors. They love baseball down there.


Pan American University was a baseball powerhouse in the '70's. Multiple NCAA appearances including a 2-2 record in the 1971 College World Series.



My dad pitched for Pan American back then and played in the World Series.. People in the Valley love badeball..

I did not know that. I may have seen him pitch when they played in regionals in Arlington.

    That will complete the sweep of the Delta Devils, as the Jacks win it in a run rule 10-0 victory.

    It was the perfect game for SFA newcomer #15 Nate Vidlak (Sr.) who went 4 innings, no hits, no runs, no walks, and 7 K's.


    #11 Dylan Mulcahy (Jr.) in relief goes 3 innings, 1 hit, no runs, no walks, 5 K's

    #22 Josh Ibe (Sr.) gets his first homer of the season with a shot to left field in the bottom of the 1st.




    #42 Juan Cantua (Jr.) takes it the other way with a shot over the right field wall in the bottom of the 5th.




    #13 Ethan Pena (Jr.) with a big day 1 run off of 2 hits, a double, and 3 RBI's.

    4 Lumberjacks with a multiple hit day.

    SFA improves to 4-0 on the season, 8-game win streak.

    Jacks return to action Tuesday against Huston-Tillotson.

    Jacks get 56 runs off of 55 hits, 13 doubles, 2 triples, 2 home runs, 48 RBI's, 38 walks, and 22 stolen bases.

    The pitching goes 30 innings, 29 hits, 7 earned runs, 4 walks, 52 K's, no HR's with a 2.10 ERA; 1.10 WHIP

    Nicholls was swept by #13 Tennessee

    Biggest win so far for the SLC this season has been the UTRGV 7-4 win over BIG 12 (RV) Kansas in game one of their series.

    After Feb. 22 it gets real for the Jacks

    Wow, let's say average cost $8.00 a ticket, I know there are season ticket holders, mini pack prices, students are free, etc. but just average cost, that would be about $100K weekend alone on ticket sells, unless it's just a majority of students.

    WHERE: PILGRIM'S PARK
    TV: ESPN+

    The Rams of Huston-Tillotson, NAIA member from the Red River Conference, roll into Nac. for a quick single game.

    Currently the Rams are coming off a hard fought series with #20 Texas A&M-Victoria L 1-4; L 4-5; L 8-13

    This will be the second all-time meeting between the two schools, with the Jacks winning 10-3 last season.

    Possible starters on the mound for the Jacks, Nate Bergeron, Gage Elliott, or Noah O'Farrell

    SFA off to their best start in program history at 5-0 with an 8-0 win over Huston-Tillotson.

    Jacks pitching staff send 6 to the mound, giving up no hits, no runs, 11 K's, walking 5, starting pitcher Seanan Farney with 5.


    #1 Cemodrick Bland (So.) keeps the pace going with a hit, and 3 RBI's.

    #22 Josh Ibe (Sr.) with his second HR of the season, going downtown in the 3rd scoring a run and 2 RBI's.

    #13 Ethan Pena (Jr.) stays hot with 2 more hits, scoring a run and a RBI.

    SFA now hits the road for a four game series with Arkansas-Pine Bluff, starting Friday.

    The Demons remain perfect at 4-0 with a thrilling rally against Louisiana-Monroe.

    After being down 8-3 in the bottom of the 7th, Northwestern State scores 10 (4 in the bottom of the 7th, and and 6 in the bottom of the 8th to win it 13-10.)

    SFA and Northwestern State are the only SLC teams still undefeated.

    Another record crowd for the Vaqueros down in the valley 6,588 watched UTRGV take on Texas Tech, losing 12-21.

    UTRGV took a quick 8-2 lead in the bottom of the 1st until the Red Raiders poured it on in the top of the 3rd with a 7 run inning. They would go on to score in every inning but one.

    Georgia Tech is averaging 18.75 runs per game this season outscoring opponents 74-12.

    They beat Georgia Southern last night 25-1.

    Pointing out that the six pitchers that shared in the no hitter had not thrown a pitch this season before this game. Definitely weak competition, but still implies that there are a lot of arms to chose from.

    The Lumberjacks are in Pine Bluff, Arkansas for a 4-game series against the Golden Lions of Arkansas PB from the SWAC, a team that is 2-2 after a split with Lindenwood in their first series of 2026.

    This will be the 15th all-time meeting in the series with UAPB, with SFA holding a 12-2 record, and winners of the last 9 meetings. Last season SFA swept the Golden Lions in a hard fought series at Pilgrim's Park 6-5; 7-6; 13-6; and 13-3 in 8 innings.

    Projected starters for the series

    UAPB starting lineup is currently batting as a whole .188, recording 24 hits over 4 games. Despite the low team average, Joe Adams (.444) and Blake Coleman (.333) are significantly boosting the cumulative total.

    SFA current lineup is batting .450
    • Run Production: SFA is averaging nearly 13 runs per game, 64 runs total (#6 in the nation) driven by Ethan Peรฑa, Jhett Creel, and Julian Swift who have combined for 26 RBIs in just five games.

    I guess Coby DeJesus is injured?

    He started the first game at SS and has not been seen since, not even as a PH. Had a great game too, with 3 hits (a double), a run and 2 RBI's.

    And the JUCO All-American Gavin Shaddix?

    I've seen him in the pictures and the dugout, so maybe they are redshirting him for next season or he is injured as well?

    This team is deep.
