Decent crowd of 781. UTSA played good VB in the first set, and we did not. Finish up the tournament on Saturday against McNeese in a non-conference match.

Ya. Can't wait to see them in person. Lots of freshman and sophomores playing. If we beat McNeese, I feel like 8-5 is a reasonable start given the number of underclassmen Solid!!!!

The Ladyjacks have been flying under the radar here on the Sawmill, but they're quietly putting together a strong season. Their sweep tonight over Lamar in Beaumont moved their overall record to 13-5 and their SLC record to 5-0. It was their 10th sweep in their 13 wins, including 4 of 5 in the conference. And remember, this team is young and being led by underclassmen. Not a senior on the roster.

It appears their toughest conference opponent will be Southeastern Louisiana.

I can count on one hand the number of people, including you, that are on the Sawmill that care at all about women's sports. I tried providing information, and promoting them. I gave up.

Soccer and volleyball are competing for SLC championships. A freshman broke the SFA XC record. Tennis will be much improved with three newcomers on the team. I suspect bowling will be better than their pre-season #11 in the country ranking. Softball is going to be a much improved team. Pitching will still be good. Hitting will be much improved. WBB is a TBD for me. So many newcomers, and a bit of a short in numbers roster.

All good points, 76. But of the teams you mentioned, the one I'm most excited about is WBB. The coaches did a very good job of harvesting from the portal. I can see them making the Big Dance.

First place on the line on Saturday.

If we beat the winless Privateers tomorrow, that will be 35 home wins in a row! That is some dominance.

Of course the big game is SELA on Saturday. They clipped us earlier in the season, but it didn't count as a conference game. Let's hope the home court magic stays strong.

UNO is a bad team. RPI of 339 out of 346 teams. SLU is a respectable 109. SFA is up to 59, with the youngest team in D1.

The Ladyjacks are not the same team that SLU reverse swept at the UTEP tournament. The freshmen are greatly improved, allowing Kahl to move from OH to libero when needed, among other things. It should be a good match. Hope we have a decent crowd. Dhump, and her quality assistants, will have us ready.

Held UNO to just 31 points in 3 sets. That was a beat down.

As expected. If Dhump is not one of the best, most innovative coaches in the game, I don't know who is better. She does a great job of working freshmen into the lineup, with Kennedy Jones being the latest. A significant rule change this season allows using two liberos in a set. She made a move to do that during the UIW match when our passing was struggling, and did it for the entire UNO match. Obviously, it worked well. And, Creecy set an SFA record.

I know we play nobody teams but I feel like we should get more national recongition for our record. Come on now. Hell even last year when we didn't win it and went to the dance we never once had any Votes for Top 25.

Watching this match is giving me heartburn.

Yuck. Reverse swept again. Got to get that out of our heads.

SLU passed extremely well from late second set through the balance of the match. Their three senior starters made a big difference. Start a new home win streak on Tuesday against Lamar.

Having those seniors makes a difference. Huge. This team still has upside imho.

Ladyjacks have three juniors, three sophomores, and ten freshmen (1RS freshman) on the roster. One of the sophomores, that was a starter, was lost for the season with a knee jury in the first set of the season.

Two freshmen were starters the first match of the season. A third became a starter with the injury. A fourth has recently earned her way into the starting lineup.

With eight matches left, this team, that is the youngest in D1, does have a lot of upside potential.

Yes sir. We should have a long term positive scenario with volleyball. With what DHump has shown she can do , I can only imagine where this team can go.

Lots of highlights coming.

Ladyjacks will catch them twice more, regular season and tournament, with both matches at Hammond. SFA will get over the "Hump". I'm sure SELA is looking over their shoulders at our young ladies.

While in town for Homecoming, headed to my very first Ladyjack VB match tomorrow. Where's the closest place to Shelton to park? The parking garage near the student center?
nacluth
How long do you want to ignore this user?
It kind of depends how busy the campus is. That garage is a decent spot, behind the STEM building or behind the library, but the last two are in the sun.

Unless it's busy, think weekday evening match, we park behind the library, off Wilson Drive. That's probably where we will park tomorrow. If it's busy, we park by tennis.

There will be signs north of Shelton indicating which doors to enter through.

Hope Bella isn't out for a long time. That looked painful.

Really feel like this team still has some maturing left. That being said, Hidalgo for SELA is something else.

Losing Bella would be a massive loss. She would get replaced by another true freshman as she was in the fifth set.
