VanSickle, Traylor-Walker, Vann and LeMelle all not suited up. With the first 2 being full time starters it does leave us short
Glad to see them pull it out at the end. The 4th quarter was rough, but I'll take any win vs ACU.

This was the first Ladyjack game I've gotten to watch beginning to end. Last night was rough. Based on what I saw, Perry needs a ton of work. Passes were not good too many times, and for some reason she cannot hit a bucket from under the basket. To be fair, seems like the TEAM cannot shoot under the basket. Lucky for sure to walk away with a win.

You're right about Mika Perry. She played very well in the two previous games but played terribly in this one. Of the rest of the players only Key Roseby played well the entire way. And after no one could hit a three for most of the game, thankfully they started making a few in the second half.
Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. This was one of those days.

Did the Ladyjacks play up to their potential? No.
Did they win because of luck? Absolutely not. Just like the men in the following game, they didn't play their best, but still did what they needed to do to gut out a win. There is a true freshman running point. Perry hasn't played in two years. Cajuste hasn't played in two years. ACU was the first real competition they have played this season.

Ladyjacks at home tonight against Houston. I was at the last home game where we handled the Lady Cougars. Their traveling faithful were loud but surprised by how easily that year's team beat them up. This will be a different contest.

So far, this one hss been hard to watch. Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers. By both teams. Bad shooting by both teams. 8-8 half way through first quarter.
I really wish we knew why four players haven't played this year (two of them are arguably our best players).

And what's wrong with Cha Gardner? Our only post player played 6 minutes, had 3 points and no rebounds!!! At the end of last season she was starting to look like a good player. She has been a nobody in every game so far.

Agree tonight she has not looked right and allowed several easy layups. Sophomore slump or minor injury or pressure of several Ladyjacks not playing, number of possibilities. That said she did close out last season looking very ready to step forward. Plenty of time for that to happen.
