Per his Instagram, Tichyque Musaka has committed to SFA. Musaka is a 6-11 C that is transferring from Gulf Coast state (NJCAA). He averaged 6 PPG and 5 RPG.
Nice to finally add some height to a lineup that feels like it is fully of guards.

At Northern Arizona 2023-24 (Freshman): Appeared in 19 games totaling 66 minutes...Recorded 19 points while shooting 50.0 percent from the field...Totaled 15 rebounds while tabbing career-high at Montana with four (2/8).

7th school in 7 years. Can't teach 6'11. Solid bench piece if nothing else.
Just for my information, is Verbal Commits something we can put a lot of stock in as it does not seem to be updated with the players we have listed as coming to SFA? Melvin doesn't even show that we have offered him on VC!
Judging from the highlight reels, he looked OK on the offensive end and better than OK on the defensive end. Probably won't be a regular starter but should provide some good minutes off the bench.
Coach Braeuer has really concentrated on recruiting JUCO's. I wonder if that was his intent or if that's just where the remaining talent is in the portal and/or who we can afford to sign with limited NIL funds.
Nice get. A good bigs coach can develop him. Cox was good at that.
Speaking of Cox.
Former SFA assistant Jeremy Cox and former Cayuga standout Hunter Jenkins, son of Martin’s Mill head coach Greg Jenkins, are both headed to UTEP. https://t.co/n6dIxE8r10

I think it's more of the latter. He's a new head coach, not just for us but anywhere, and the SFA name doesn't carry the weight it used to. And I don't even think NIL is even an issue here.
Even if he's an outstanding recruiter, he's gonna need to build back up the SFA reputation as well as make his own. That's both for high school recruits who have been being recruited for months or over a year and transfers looking for a new home.
At least with the JUCO kids you can just say D1 and they'll be happy. It's an easier sell.
No I think we have just the right number here. We need more since we also have to coach football, soccer, baseball, and track.
But we have a DOB, 4 assistants and an HC by my count. Or am I off?
Speaking of which, Texan, you've been AWOL a lot lately here at the Sawmill. The average athletics IQ on here has plummeted while you've been gone. Getting recruited for a position on a Power Five school's staff?
Juco can produce very good players. Wasn't Kensmil, cam Johnson and Ware juco players that made an immediate impact?
Yes all three were Juco squad and also the team that beat Duke. JuCo players are solid players to find. Also just take a look at Jimmy Butler Tyler JUCO to Marquette. Espically would be good to use that rule they may get an extra year now.
Without saying he's committed or been signed, Sawmill 6th Man posted on Facebook the stats on Lateef Patrick. Standout 6'1" guard from Trinidad State College. A two-time JUCO All-American. In his freshman year he averaged 17.1 ppg, and in his sophomore year averaged 24.1 ppg, shooting 48.1% from the field, 39.0% on threes, and 83.2% on FT's. He had signed with Quinnipiac but requested and received his release to reenter the portal.
The only comment that Sawmill 6th Man made was... "Who's next??"
I can't imagine that our insiders over at Sawmill 6th Man would have posted this if they didn't know something was cookin' in the offices at WRJ... If this is true, that would explain the bullseye emoji. This would be HUGE!!!!

Verbal Commits is more community driven. So really need to tag them when someone commits or it probably won't be updated. Its a good site just need user help.

At least as mobile as Nana and probably more physical. We need physical. We haven't had physical since Kensmil.
??? Our NIL Collective people. Come on, Ryan. You knew that...
I've made it that far. Where are you getting info from the collective? Is it an email or posts somewhere? I'm not on "social media" sites, just curious.

They posted a big article about the guy on Facebook this morning.
I like this highlight video of Musaka. He is really long and moves very well for his size. He looks very similar too Sylla but a lot better basketball player.
