SFA (22-8) vs. Abilene Christian (21-9)
WHEN: MAR 10 (THUR) 10:30PM
WHERE: Orleans Arena (Las Vegas, NV)
WATCH: ESPN+
Jacks begin their run of postseason play with a quarterfinal match-up with the Wildcats of Abilene Christian. This will be their third meeting of the season with the Lumberjacks winning both previous games.
Two weeks ago in Nacogdoches, ACU had the lead with less than two minutes to go when some last second heroics by the SFA freshmen lifted them to victory. SFA shot a dismal 55% from the line while ACU netted almost 90% of theirs. ACU turned SFA over 19 times compared to their 11, but the Jacks outrebounded them throughout the game.
Ball security and points in the paint will be important for both teams. Fresh legs may be an advantage for the Jacks, but ACU was in good rhythm last night shooting over 50% from the field.
The Jacks have been very good against guard heavy teams all year. Expect a lot of high traps to get the ACU offense out of rhythm. Airion Simmons got hot from deep and kept the Wildcats in the game last time. He will be guarded tight tonight.
Jacks start out with the late game. Drink some caffeine and cheer them on.
