Everyone has now made it to the second half of the conference season and the bracket is shaping up.

On top: Sam 10-0, ACU 4 points away from being undefeated, New Orleans winners of 4 straight, SELA winners of 6 of the last 7.

On bottom: Usual suspects UIW, HBU, Nicholls, NWST, and McNeese.

Caught in the middle: SFA winners of 4 out of 5, UCA and Corpus both losers of 3 in a row, and Lamar that can't seem to decide whether they are winning or losing.

Will Lamar bring their same defensive scheme to town? We need this one not only for seeding but for some payback.

Is it possible to leave and get back in for the double header?

In many ways this is the same team just without Colton Weisbrod. Losing your Thomas Walkup all-around player really hurts a team, but they are still dangerous and deep. Garth and Nzeakor lead this team like they did last year when Gilmore shut down Weisbrod. It's going to be heavy sledding.

And they added a guard that was a team mate of Johns when they were at Ozen. Gonna be a hard game. We need two good halves. Didn't Lamar lose a couple shooters that hurt us last year?

Somehow that reminds me of the old joke of the golfer who paused on the green as a funeral passed by on the highway outside the course.
