Outplayed, outcoached, out kicked but not outscored. Take it and move on. Credit UIW. We let them believe in the 2nd quarter and this is what can happen.

Jenkins has only carried the ball 5 times. What gives??

Frisby is the best DB in the country. No question.
Only five of the 11 FCS unbeaten teams entering Week 5 remained that way. pic.twitter.com/FLLf2zDsnr

Players who could (should, IMO) lose their starting spots after tonight's bad play...K Alvarado and DB Morgan-Collins.
BTW, irony... Morgan-Collins got burned several times on deep throws, then (I think, correct me if I'm wrong) was the guy that made the tackle on the 2-point conversion that saved the game.

Now that I've had time to digest this. We played and won a bad game by us. If we look at the previous 5 games, at least 2 of which were against tougher opponents, this was an outlier bad game for us.
SFA found a way to win when playing like ***** It is what it is. Gavin played really well all night, his interception was a clear as day PI that wasn't called. The receivers couldn't get separation but made plays when they needed to. And the defense, despite giving up a ton of yards, stood tall when they needed to.
This game is not a game to freak out about. There are things to work on, but we've seen several times this season that this SFA team is much better than what we saw against UIW.
Bad games happen. This was a bad game. Now they have 2 weeks to think about it, get mad, and take it all out on Nicholls to get the ship back on track.

This interview really should instill confidence in anyone worried about the performance. Carthel isn't worried about it. He thinks it was good for the team. And the team got the win.
And I agree with him. Mid December when we find ourselves in Bozeman or Brookings in a dogfight with a trip to Nashville on the line, learning how to finish a close game is going to be huge.
Glad you saw that good defense, because I sure didn't. Not on Saturday. UIW's QB and receivers picked them apart.BigJack85 said:SFASawmillGuy said:SFAXE93 said:

Absolutely. This team displayed some real grit on Saturday. Especially liked the poise that the offense showed.
We didn't show it Saturday (the entire game) but at times we still looked like one of the best defenses in the FCS

Thankfully, no other team in the SLC will have a passing attack like that.
