NCAA gets a cut of the sold ticket revenue for the playoff games. Report 12,000, and they want their cut for 12,000. There are other wrinkles also. Attendance numbers are subject to be audited.
76 is spot on..

Didn't we under report during season too? Does NCAA get a cut of that?
Also we've got UT money now. Lol.

Some things are for sure better but our athletic dept still survives on private funds because we have no athletic fee on our students bills.. Most every other school has these charges at registration but we don't.. Hopefully we will be going through the right process of getting it added.. Our faculty should be getting paid more now that we are part of UT which is so much deserved but it really doesn't help that much with athletics until we start charging a fee like other schools.. For example I believe Tarletons ath dept gets roughly 10mil more per year than us because of those fees.

Good to know. Yeah I think I vaguely remember a vote for adding the athletic fees not getting passed a few years back but I could be wrong. That definitely makes sense though.

The vote has been up and voted down every couple of years for at least well over a decade now. The bad thing is the students don't know what they're voting against.
I talked to a few students at the playoff game specifically about the athletic fee, and they were all under the impression it was going to make SFA athletic events no longer free for students. They had no idea what it entailed.

Ya the last attempt iirc was a like one week crap show where they hoped students really wouldn't pay attention to pass it.
And I can understand why students are balking at any additional fees with today's uni prices.

This is what I found for UT students:
Texas Longhorn students don't pay a separate mandatory athletic fee but can purchase the Big Ticket, an optional sports pass for access to events, which costs $250 (with football) or $100 (without football) for the 2025-26 year, with no extra processing fees for these prices. While older information mentioned a $175 fee plus processing, the current "Big Ticket" is a flat rate for all home regular season sports, including football, basketball, volleyball, baseball, and softball.
Are we asking students to do something different?

We don't ask our students to do anything. Last I knew, students got in free to all sporting events.
Could be wrong now, though.

Read an article from the Bozeman Daily Chronicle that said we pulled out of a home and home agreement to play them in 2024 resulting in us paying $150k. Is that true and if so why did we pull out of that agreement?

That was right after McBroom and co moved us to the SLC. Don't know for sure, but my guess is that we had to accommodate the SLC schedule and moving stuff around was part of the deal
