Big attendance on Saturday was reported to the NCAA at 1,025. Dropped our overall attendance average to 6,400.

54th. Down from around 40. What on earth. Can our department team get things like this right ?

Something to ask the AD, I guess? Cause that's absurd that it was reported this badly wrong.

Maybe it gets fixed.

Looks like a 0 is missing in the thousands place.

Initial reaction....10-2. I could see us going perfect, but I know that is ambitious... 8-4 would be a failure in my opinion. I'll come back to this in a few days with more collected thoughts.

After further evaluation, I do think my 10-2 pick could be too ambitious. Also 8-4 would not be a failure either, but I do believe it's underperforming.

SawmillGuy is 100% right, this may be our best opportunity to beat a FBS squad, let alone a P4 school. Looking at the backend of the schedule, our last 5-6 games are for sure winnable, and I think we'll be favorited to do so. Arguably our biggest challenges, ACU & UIW, will both have new starting QBs, so why not believe those are Ws? I think we get the bad taste out our mouths from the bad McNeese & ETA&M Ls. My last stipulation is with a healthy Sam....maybe 10-2 is in the picture? Overall to say, my expectations are high and I totally believe the Jacks should be a playoff team in 2025.

CMONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN JACKS PROVE ME RIGHT

This guy might deserve King of Sawmill status for the year.

An 12-14 seed seems likely. Top 8 is a long shot imho.

The final regular season SLC power rankings.

1. SFA- The Jacks came, they saw, they conquered. The Kings of the SLC are marching their way onto the road to Nashville. Vidlak is back and better than ever. The defense is ready to roll. This team is built to go far.

2. SLU- it wasn't pretty, they got banged up, but they finished the job against Nicholls. They're now at the mercy of the playoff committee with a pretty poor resume but a 9-1 record against FCS opponents. 1 win against a team with a winning record(UTRGV) and 0-1 against ranked opponents. The committee will have to decide which matters more, the 9-1 FCS record, or the incredibly bad strength of schedule.

3. UTRGV- Early season easy schedule be damned, this team is a 1st year program and came in and dominated most of the SLC. This team is going to be a problem for years to come.

4. Lamar- Oh Lamar, what're you doing??? The Battle of the Border is a huge rivalry so I will take that into account, but McNeese showed once again that Lamar is not a team built to come from behind. The committee may take their 2 ranked wins into account and give them an at large bid, but they may have made the SLC a 1 bid league.

5. UIW- The Cardinals utilized their talent far too late. If they can keep them, they'll be solid next season, but this team is the definition of underachieving.

6. Nicholls- Hats off to the Colonels, they gave SLU all they could handle and nearly came out with a chaotic upset. If they could only figure out that thing called offense they may be a really good team.

7. McNeese- The Pokes went into Beaumont and created chaos. For all their shortcomings this year, it almost feels worth it to knock off Lamar. That being said, it's hard to ignore 11 other games of underachieving.

8. ETAMU- The fire ran out against the Vaqueros. This is a team close to finding their identity. If Clint Dolezel gets another year, I expect them to improve.

9. HCU- They get to say they're D1 and not last in the conference. So there's that.

10. NWST- I still really like Coach McCorkle and he threw in some exciting wrinkles to their offense against SFA, unfortunately those wrinkles didn't help prevent being down by 48 at the half. Sorry little one, maybe one day you'll figure it out.
