The Lumberjacks were able to turn it around tonight. That's great. But we still need much improvement to not lose to Sammy for the 12th time in a row. My concerns have not changed from my earlier comments...

I would suggest that Football is a season. I'm more concerned about the whole year not just a single game.

I know y'ale basically watching the dial up version of this game but did any of those look like targeting?
Ljacks&Longnecks

Quite honestly couldn't see either call, and there was no replay to check.

So offense wise we started off pretty rough but once we ran the ball with some success , we wore them down. That is your improved O Line doing their job.
Defense played very well....Tarletons only TD was a very short drive.
Of course there is always lots to work on but in the end a successful opening win.

On the 2nd one, I actually did see our guy connect with the crown. But, the QB stayed up and the play continued, so when there was no flag, I figured all was well.

Reason the stream went down is because someone cut the fiber optic line this afternoon around 3pm and it through a lot of things for a loop obviously.. so this was way beyond Ivey and the Ath dept problem..

So that is still embarrassing, IMO & means it was on SFA, not ESPN. Oh well, on to next game

I figured it was something like that.

Do you know where it was cut? Just trying to figure how how it gets cut on a Saturday afternoon at 3:00.

I head the term downstream if that means anything.. Not sure.. i know it effected the ticket box because people weren't let into the stadium until 430-445 and it is advertised to open 2 hrs before kickoff.. Don't think they could get the scanners to work they had multiple issues.. I am sure they will get them worked out..

One quick thought. Offense was night and day in the 2nd half.

Loved how we opened up the playbook and started attacking the field after we established the run.

Did we do brown pellets? Gives it a real grass look.
It's a wood infill rather than the rubber pellets. Much, much cooler than rubber. I think this is what we have, but don't know for certain.

Also, net rushing of 47 yards on 11 carries. Only sacked two times. Averaged just over 13 yards per completion.

Good stat line. Good decision making. Very poised. Got the W.

Not sure what some people want from a QB.

Compared to other WAC attendance lines for traditionally lesser attended sports, this was not good.

I noticed UT's playing surface already looked too dark with the pellets.

The wood infill looks great imo. made it look like real grass.

Other than the GCU volleyball match, which was great, what are you referring to?

" We still don't know. We think somehow the fiber run went bad, but don't know for sure. It worked the night before and that morning. When we took the equipment to stream volleyball it just didn't work. Took it back to football and it never worked. We had to put it on WAC DN due to the broadcasting standards of ESPN "

I worked in manufacturing for over 40 years, experiencing some frustrating downtimes when everything had been checked out before start up. It shouldn't happen, it does happen, and I trust they will learn from it.

Surprised that no one complained about VB having to be moved to Twitter live yesterday.

The kicking game was very good. Quick, Brown, and Campos earned their keep. Snappers did their jobs perfectly, too. Those are guys that easily get overlooked.

Commentary is different than complaining. I show up (from Houston) for 2-3 games a year. I'm allowed to "commentate". LOL.
