We need a few wins. Then I'll be laughing. A little.

Hey if this is actually the case (which I doubt) we should be spending a lot more on a QUALITY AND PROVEN Leader for the program. SH paid $150k more that SFA for a proven winner of a coach in 2020 WHO DELIVERED RESULTS with a lower budget??? Laughable and doubtful!!

BTW, SH got a monstrous return on that investment!! All I can say is JOB WELL DONE!!

You continue to tout the "spend money to make money" mantra. At some level, I agree. You've done a decent job of laying out expenses. You have not made any comment about where you believe this money that SFA has not spent should have come from.

Sam has the third lowest athletic department budget in FBS. Have you seen the abomination of a "pitch" that soccer plays on? It's dangerous at best. They attempted to increase the student athletic fee. They are in serious need of increasing revenue. As is, SFA.

Totally agree with you on the Athletic Fee! However, I think "If you build it, they will come" but we just don't have the trust or more importantly the vision to pull off what Sam Houston did, and Tarleton, and Incarnate Word are doing now.

If Sam Houston's former CFO & President could find the money when Willie Fritz and Keeler were hired, WE CAN TOO!! But nothing will happen without the vision from our Administration!!

Not for nothing, but Stony Brook at 8.9 million has the second largest football operating budgets in the FCS, and they've had as many FCS Playoff appearances and fewer winning seasons as SFA has had since 2013. NDSU on the other hand is 11th in football spending in the FCS, and they'd probably have a winning record over that time frame as a P4 school.

So sometimes, money isn't the biggest answer.

Scotty Walden has UTEP competing against Texas! Then again, Arch Manning also has UTEP competing against Texas. Arch looks awful. I'm not so sure he would complete over 50% of his passes against us.

The NCAA is officially moving to a single offseason transfer window, eliminating the spring window. The dates and length of the remaining January window are yet to be decided.

Maybe this will mean schools will bring back the spring game, since schools aren't going to be able to "scout" transfers during the spring game.

Western Carolina's QB Taron Dickens set an NCAA record for most completed consecutive passes today by completing his first 46 vs. Wofford.

True story. SH will return to prominence! You cannot bash a team that won a NATTY and is now in the FBS, while we are 0-2 in the FCS, out of the top 25, and will have another mediocre season! They paid their dues and have doubled enrollment!!

Hats off to AD Bobby Williams and former CFO, and President, Dana Gibson Hoyt!! Those two are making us look silly!!

Don't look now, AxeEm99, but Dear Old Prison Tech and their football program that you admire so much just lost to Jacksonville State to go to 0-6 on the year. Yeah, their AD Bobby Williams and President Dana Gibson Hoyt are really making us look silly, aren't they?

It appears the convict fans are not even trying to travel to their temporary home in Houston anymore. They somehow reported 5400 fans, seeing videos from inside the stadium looks like they had fewer than 1000. Much fewer.

Even though we appear to hopefully be on the cusp of some moderate success this year in Football, Sam Houston is still making us look silly even at 0-6 in FBS. We remain light-years behind SH because of poor decisions made in the past. Just calling it the way it actually is....

Thanks for the "Joke of the Day". Take a moment and actually read what you typed in that first sentence. Crow is mighty hard to swallow, isn't it?

CBS Sports Network isn't doing Sammy any favors with the lengthy camera panning of a completely empty Shell Stadium.

Mighty Sam Houston State University is still making us look silly by moving their record to an awesome 0-7.

I don't want to hear anyone defend their attendance by bringing up they're playing in Houston. They have a massive alumni base here and none of them can be bothered to show up to their games. Even ones that should be winnable like UTEP.

On Sam Houston's official box score they list attendance at 4657.

If that isn't ALL OUT fraud I don't what is.

Why couldn't we have played Sam Houston for our money game. Nothing would've been sweeter than beating Sam Houston and getting paid by Sam Houston to do so. Because we would 100% beat them this year.
