Carthel refers to athletes as "jokers" as in they can play multiple positions and don't have a set position yet. Usually a QB who's likely going to transition to receiver or DB.

I'm more annoyed he's telling our freshly signed recruits this if it's not true. Don't want these kids to get on campus with FBS dreams in 2 years and be heartbroken into transferring.

Also not to put too much stock into this but it was liked and reposted by a few coaches including Carthel…

I thought the same thing. I also thought - if it's true - it would be really crappy for them to tell recruits that when it's not public knowledge.

Wow. This guy looks like he's a keeper! Great arm, elusive and fast runner. And apparently a great punter, too. I can see him getting lots of playing time this Fall. It'll be interesting to see how Carthel uses him.

I can't help but wonder if our new OC had anything to do with landing him.

They are collecting lots of speedy slot receivers which goes well with what the new OC wants to run on offense.

But I do hope this guy gets a look at QB, as he is a pure duel threat, who can put a nice spin on the ball, tuck and run, some coaches even say he is very Manziel like.

2022: Appeared in 10 games for the Golden Bears on the defensive line, securing his first career start at defensive end in week 8 at Northern State ... tallied 16 total tackles (eight solo) that included 5.0 sacks for 52 yards ... notched his first career tackle in the season opener against Augustana (09/01) ... collected his first career sack for a 20 yard loss on the road against Bemidji State (10/08) ... picked up 3.5 sacks on four total tackles (three solo) at MSU Moorhead (11/5) ... was able to hurry the quarterback three times and break up one pass.

Prior to Missouri S&T: Transfer to S&T from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, where he was a member of its 2021 team that finished undefeated...at the high school level, Paige made 20 catches for 400 yards and was named honorable mention all-district...was selected as his team's most improved player.
