So, still no commitment from Chase Campbell? Did getting the transfer from Tennessee scare him off? He looks like a prototype pro style QB.

Many of those PWOs have division 2 and 3 offers. Many don't stick around and in the end take those offers after all.

Some stay and try to earn a scholarship, which is a big challenge.

PWO's get a spot on the team and a chance to compete for a scholarship. It's basically getting on the team without having to "walk on" in the normal sense of the term. PWO's will walk on campus with a roster spot but have to pay tuition. Traditional walk ons are a long shot to make the roster and have to compete in try outs for a spot.

Whenever you sign with a team it's like a contract keeping you from just jumping ship and going to play somewhere else before the next season. Unfortunately FCS schools have a lot more PWO players than FBS schools due to the scholarship restriction but you can think of it this way.

You're a player who gets a D2 scholarship or a D1 FCS PWO offer. It's a promised spot on a D1 program with a scholarship chance. Most kids will take that.

Checking the UIW roster, with Cameron Ward gone, they only have two QBs remaining, so probably looks more inviting for Campbell to go to that program, with a new head coach and staff where all the positions are up for grabs
