Good bye Shay Locomotive at Forestry Building

Just read an article in the Sentinel (on Facebook) that the locomotive by the Forestry building is being moved to Harbor Springs Michigan to a Historical society that will rehabilitate it and add it to their Ephraim Shay collection. He built many of these locomotives back in his day. Will miss seeing this old guy when I get to Nac but at least they will spend the money to fix him up.

That said, of course in the facebook comments there is someone claiming that there are millions of $$ unaccounted for in the new athletic facility construction and that's why SFA can't afford other things. I posted a response asking for evidence.

I'm glad it's getting restored and displayed in a prominent place for it's inventor.

It would be cool to have another engine to replace it, but that seems unlikely.
