Whitehouse (7-1) with their first set back of the regular season in a 14-27 loss to Pine Tree (6-1-1). Back in action at home next week against Jacksonville (1-7) and then a tough one on the road at Texas High (8-0) who destroyed Pine Tree 44-0 last week.

The Wildcats just need one more win to secure a first round home game in the 5A Div. II Playoffs.

Bowie went down to West Sabine 20-26 to finish the season at 8-4. West Sabine (7-5) is the surprise team advancing to the Regional Championship to take on 2A powerhouse Mart (10-0).

Garrison (6-4) advances to their Regional Championship to take on undefeated Timpson (12-0)

The Daingerfield vs. Hughes Springs matchup was not to be as we now have West Rusk (8-3) and Waskom (9-1) in the 3A Div. II Regionals.

Hooks (6-5) run came to an end last night against Elysian Fields (10-2) 20-41 with the Yellowjackets advancing to take on the Brahmas of Pewitt (8-3)

Carthage (10-0) marches on to the Regionals for a big matchup against Salado (11-1)

Gilmer (11-1) will take on Sunnyvale (6-4)

Kilgore (9-3) in their regional championship game will take on Hargrave (10-1) and Paris (8-4) will have the Cardinals of Melissa (11-1)

Down here in the Houston area Galena Park North Shore, the two-time defending Class 6-A, Division I state champions and currently ranked #1 in the state, may have their best team ever. They have not been challenged all year. Yesterday they beat a very good Atascocita team 63-18. Playing in the rain, North Shore had 718 yards of offense compared to Atascocita's 173. BTW, Atascocita was the #12 ranked team in Texas. I'll be shocked if anyone comes close to beating North Shore in the playoffs.

With the exception of the 1978, 1983, and 1991 seasons, the Bulldogs were a pretty average football program.
