SFA (18-15) vs. Texas State (22-10)

WHERE: San Marcos, Texas (Irvine-Rasmussen Park)
WHEN: April 8; 6:00 P.M.
TV: ESPN+

The Bobcats are 16-4 at home this season and have wins over Gonzaga, UTSA, Abilene Christian, Tarleton State, Washington State, #25 Louisiana, UTRGV, and are just coming off a victory over #18 Texas A&M.

Texas State leads the all time series 46-21 having won the last 3 meetings and 7 of the last 10.

TSU's starting lineup is batting almost .300 highlighted by soon to be Bobcat legend Chase Mora who became the all-time leader in HR's at Texas State with 37. As a whole the line up has a total of 57 home runs on the season (65 on the entire team). Easy to say this is a slugger lineup (.588).

The team has also recorded 61 doubles and 12 triples with a team OPS of .951

Look for pitch by committee in tonights game as each bullpen should get a good workout in this one.

SFA 18-16; 9-6 vs. UTRGV 14-18; 9-9

WHERE: Nacogdoches, Texas (Pilgrim's Park)
WHEN: Apr. 10; 6:00 PM/Apr. 11; 6:00 PM /Apr. 12; 1:00 PM
TV: ESPN+

SFA leads the all-time series 21-19, but UTRGV has dominated since 2022, having won the last 5 meetings and 9 of the last 10 many in shorten games with the Vaqueros averaging over 11 runs a game to SFA's 3 in that span.

This will be a battle between 4th SFA and 5th place UTRGV.

UTRGV started the 2026 campaign with impressive wins over BIG XII schools Kansas, and a series win over Houston, but have cooled off here in the middle of the season, currently on a 5-game skid and have lost 7 of their last 8 including a 3-game sweep by Northwestern State and a series loss to A&M CC.

Leading Hitters: Thomas Williams leads the starters with a .331 BA, followed closely by Julius Ramirez at .315 and Armani Raygoza at .305.

Power Threats: Armani Raygoza (10 HR) and Julius Ramirez (8 HR) provide the primary power in the middle of the order.

Pitching Rotation: The weekend rotation is typically led by Sergio Lopez (RHP), Victor Loa (LHP), and Robert Bonilla (RHP). Steven Oliva serves as the primary closer and was named to the NCBWA Preseason Stopper of the Year Watch List.

Recent Status: Head coach Derek Matlock noted in early April that injuries have led to some inconsistency in the starting rotation and lineup, particularly affecting players like Carlos Vallejo.

The starting line-up is highlighted by Armani Raygoza batting .305 with 31 runs, 36 hits, 8 doubles, 29 RBI's, 31 walks (2nd in the conference), and 10 home runs (2nd in the conference) (33 HR's in career) with a SLG% of .627 (2nd in the conference) leading the conference in OPS at 1.081

Lumberjack Julian Swift leads the conference in hits (49) RBI's (40) Doubles (10), and triples (4), also 3rd in BA (.355)

Look for Templeton, LeBlanc, and Mulcahy in the starting rotation for the Jacks. Templeton is 5th in the conference in ERA (4.20) 7th in innings pitched (40.2) and 9th in K's (42)

SFA keeping themselves in the SLC Tournament hunt with 15 conference games remaining.

Cody Templeton returns to form in his best outing of the season getting the 7-2 win (4th) over the Vaqueros, the Lumberjacks move to 10-6 in conference play, moving into a three-way tie for 2nd in the standings, and 19-16 overall surpassing their win total from last year.

After a rough 2-0 start in the top of the 2nd giving up 2 runs on 2 hits, Templeton locked in going 5 shutout innings with one hit the rest of the way in a dominating performance striking out 9 in the process.

Jack James closed it in the final 2 innings going 2 innings, with no runs, 2 hits, no walks, and a K.

Juan Cantua with the multi-hit game with 2, including sending the Jacks ahead 3-2 with a single in the 5th to score Mark Henning.

SFA never looked back just methodical single hitting all night scoring runs around the bases. Josh Ibe with the only XHB at bat, a double in the 7th scoring Cantua.

Cantua would reach base on every at bat in the game with 2 hits and 2 walks.

UTRGV pitching had 13 K's but SFA made the hits when it mattered with 6 RBI's.

Jacks go for another series win today at 6:00.

A&M-Texarkana beat #4 LSUS at Pilot Field 8-5 last night for the first time since 2017.

It's been an up and down season for the Eagles with their very strong offense #2 offense in the Red River Conference behind LSUS (in 43 games 414 runs, BA .321, SLG% .491, 38 HR's, but the pitching has been the liability (overall ERA 7.17) but currently UTAMT has gone 10-1 in their last 11 after losing 8 straight. The pitching as of late has improved with Colton Sims, Remi Rountree, and Matthew Hart forming a nice little rotation.

But it has been that kind of season.

The Eagles 22-21; 11-11 are the projected #6 seed in the Red River Conference Tournament and are really battle tested having played 1/3 of the current NAIA Top 25 in 2026, going 4-12 in those games.

Lost 8 straight in March, then won 9 straight and 10 of the last 11 now in April.

SFA collecting series wins, but can't quite get those sweeps,

UTRGV salvage game three 9-3.

Henning, Ibe, Cantua, and red hot Jhett Creel with multi-hit days,

Dylan Mulcahy only goes 2.2 innings giving up 3 earned runs on 4 hits 5 K's and 4 walks.Pitch by committee the rest of the way with 5 pitchers 10 total K's but 7 walks.
