curious question here. so now that NCAA has said it is legal to give out 34 or 35 scholarships for baseball does this mean the athletic department has to come up with roughly $875,000 to pay the full scholarship? I just based it off of 35 players times avg college price of $25,000 per year to come up with that number.

I am not sure I understand how all this supposed revenue sharing stuff will work out. Do all D1 schools across the country whether they are SEC school or a Southland conference school share same amount of money?

An NCAA Division I athletic department could need to come up with approximately $850,000 to fund 34 full baseball scholarships at an average cost of attendance of $25,000, as you estimated (adjusted for 34 players).

However, the actual cost varies by school, with some facing costs up to $1.7 million or more due to higher tuition or Title IX requirements.

Many schools, especially mid-majors, will not fully fund 34 scholarships due to budget constraints, opting instead for a mix of full, partial, or fewer scholarships.

Wealthier programs are better positioned to cover these costs, but even they must balance Title IX and revenue-sharing obligations.

thanks for the explanation. So we will have to worry every year about losing our best players to either top notch D1 schools in P4 conferences, or hope other mid majors with possibly higher budgets don't try to poach them??

Does the potential new baseball field money come out of same budget or is that going to be separately raised? Kind of puts a premium on getting new facilities to help the coaches trying to convince kids to come play at SFA. I would think that a brand new stadium on campus would help lure more kids our way.

In any event, it was a successful first year and hopefully they continue build on it next year like you all have said.

next thing you will be posting is that Templeton did not get any either????? They kept us afloat for most of the season and were our team MVPs in my opinion.

No, Bland is the only SFA player to get SLC honors.
