Yep. Some NIL $ might get us 2X relievers that could put us over the hump. I
Is it right that I read there is only like $120,000 total for all sports in the NIL fund? We need to get the new stadium built and hopefully some of this supposed revenue sharing helps the smaller schools in the meantime. It is a hard thing to do but gotta get more interest which will come when we start winning these close games.

But I have maintained that even if locat restuarants could supply a meal a week to an athlete that would help keep what little money these boys and girls have in their pockets. And the coaches are going to have to embrace this new era of NIL or they will fall behind. I know technically the coaches are not allowed to do anything with the NIL but we all know they know what is going on and what the cost is per kid they are recruiting.

Yes we all know it's happening but after the debacle a few years back that resulted in hundreds of vacated wins and the postseason ban, I hope SFA never tries to skate around the rules again for a competitive advantage.

It's the big dawgs of the NCAA that can get away with it. Schools like SFA are always the ones who get punished hard for it.

SFA leads the overall series 5-2, and winner of the last 3 meetings, along with a perfect 3-0 record at home.

One team will finally break the streak this Tuesday night in the Nac. when the Lumberjacks of SFA, having lost 13 straight, take on the Panthers of Prairie View A&M, losers of 10 straight.

Along with the 10-straight losses, the Panthers also have yet to win a game on the road this season, currently 0-12.

SFA (10-27; 2-16) vs. Nicholls (13-24; 6-15)

WHEN: April 17 (Thurs.) 6:00 P.M.; April 18 (Fri.) 6:00 P.M.; April 19 (Sat.) 1:00 P.M.
WHERE: Thibodaux, Louisiana (Ben Meyer Diamond at Ray E. Didier Field)
TV: ESPN+

Baseball History vs Nicholls from March 17, 2006 - March 14, 2021

The all-time series is all tied up at 20, but SFA has lost the last 6 to the Colonels, all in Thibodaux, and have not won there since 2019.

The Colonels of Nicholls are coming off a 6-game losing streak by defeating Jackson State on Tuesday 14-6, but they have been very competitive in those loses, with 2 of their 3 loses being by 1 run and in extra innings with Lamar. The #3 team in the nation LSU came to town last Tuesday, selling out Ray E. Didier field and winning late 5-3 after Nicholls took an early 3-0 lead into the 7th inning.

Pitching ace #21 Alec Sparks 6-5; 240 senior out of Amite, Louisiana should be on the mound with his ERA of 3.10, WHIP 1.17; 4-2 win-loss, 52.1 innings pitched giving up 18 runs off of 41 hits, 49 K's, 20 walks, with a B/AVG at .212

Look also for pitchers #31 Nuno Parache (29 K's) and #25 Michael Lindsey (33 K's) to see action.

The lineup will not hurt you much with power hitting, with only 7 total homers on the season and a batting average of .266, the strength of the lineup comes from #42 Chase Jans batting .322 with 26 runs off of 48 hits, 6 doubles, 3 homers, 21 RBI's, 11 walks, as well as perfect on stolen bases 9-9. #18 Jaden Collura one of the most patient hitters in the SLC has an OB% of .423 reaching base 47 times on 22 walks.

Jacks look to build on Tuesday's win and stack some more victories into the win column to finish strong down the stretch for 2025.

I'm not sure but I have have missed this before but I just confirmed that we have plans in place for baseball and softball to move to an on campus site sooner rather than later. The land is designated already. Is this old news?

Neither new nor old news. Like all athletic facilities, baseball and softball are part of the University master plan expected to be completed in November. There are some potential athletics facilities lay outs being worked on that most of the athletic staff has seen. Next steps are to consolidate the various parts of the master plan that are being worked on simultaneously. Once the master plan is complete, funding has to be raised. Funding for athletic facilities is different than for academics. There is no UT System magic pot of money for athletics.

There is a lot more work to be done before there are shovels in the ground for any of it.
