Not a win. It was a 4-4 tie. Jacks had a lead with two minutes left in regulation but gave up a late goal. No scoring in two ten minute extra periods.

Nice win on a seriously hot afternoon. Depth was a difference, as we played 22 girls. Lots of freshmen saw playing time. Outshot them 13-6 (6-5 on goal). Both of our goals came off corner kicks.

Now for a tough road swing at Oklahoma State, Arkansas, and UNT. Next home game is September 12, against PV.

Not near what football team % is. Perhaps this will help others decide to get vaccinated. Minatta is doing what he can to educate and encourage.

I don't know that the Arkansas match will happen. Timing feels too soon. They could have had the bodies to play OSU, but it would have not been good.

Only four starters today were the same as in the win against Texas State. Some of the Texas State starters that did not start today played meaningful minutes. Two did not play at all.

Per protocol, the vaccinated players continued to practice, while the others had to quarantine until they tested negative on Friday. I believe the starters today were among the group that was able to practice.

SFA plays Prairie View A&M tomorrow in Nac.

Prairie View A&M is 2-1-2 and has not been scored on in 3 straight games.

They have only given up 2 goals in their 5 games in 2021, one against Louisiana and one against Texas State.

This was a very even match. I saw the difference being in the quality of our depth. We somewhat survived the first half, then created almost all of the good second half scoring opportunities. We also have some young players that are getting noticeably better every match.

It shows what strength of schedule can do. Lose almost all your games and still be in the top 100. I'm not saying we aren't good, but we can probably win out and not increase our RPI much.

Do we know where the WAC tournament is being held?
