Agree with both. Sophie has really come on her last three games. She also defends her position extremely well. Quick out of the circle, and two games in a row has caught a liner hit right at her. Bennet is no Govan, but she is filling in nicely.

We played well, but Lamar softball is a mess.

Southwest division:

SFA 13-2
Tarleton 11-7
ACU 10-8
Sam and Lamar - who cares

Tarleton swept ACU this weekend.

In the West, it's all GCU, about to go 13-2 following a road sweep at second place Seattle. Seattle will fall to 9-6. (A couple of outs left in the bottom of the seventh in a six run game.)

Freshman, Alexis Telford, with her second win in two days. She went four innings giving up one run on three hits. Kassidy Wilbur with the three inning save. Clinched the outright division championship. This team lost the best player in the conference to injury, and has three others that have been playing with injury challenges. LF, CF, 2B, and 3B are freshmen. Love what Coach Dickson and this team have accomplished.

Dickson has gone through this season with only one assistant. A replacement for the one that resigned two weeks before the season started will be on board June 1. Fortunately, we had a quality GA on board to pick up some of the gap. And, a trainer that has done far more than just take care of the girls physical issues.

College softball is booming on a national level. We need a commitment to significant facility improvements to be a part of that opportunity.

Close game that was expected by the two best teams in the WAC. They will play each other again in this tournament.

The Ladyjacks need to put it behind them and get ready to play (likely Seattle) tonight at 7:00.
